There is a contentious thread on this on the Entertainment board. I am telling yall right now, he is the next Democrat superstar, book it. The next Obama...but a white howdy-doody looking fake Christian instead. He will be president within the next 10-15 years. Dude is a complete snake but is going to deceive a lot of people with his kindness and the fact that he "goes to seminary". There go all of the low info soccer moms and Christians who vote with their feelings instead of their brain.

This guy is going to be a real problem. Which is crazy, because he is the most square-saltine looking mofo you could ever imagine.

The Bible repeatedly warns about false preachers like him. According to this clown, the word abortion doesn't appear in the bible, so that makes it ok.

It doesn't make it okay. It does mean that people shouldn't be saying it's (abortion) wrong because of anything having to do with their religion though, would it not?

Depends.
Are you a politician or a pastor? For a pastor to say that is heresy. Politicians are snakes, they will say whatever they need to win.

Great points. I couldn't agree more.

Your thoughts for the average person who might say that?

It would make me sad that people would normalize abortion.

I listened to Talaricos' interview on Joe Rogan. His views on the Bible, miraculously mirror every Democrat talking point. It was pretty shallow reasoning too, and Joe should know better. Didn't call him out on some of his BS.

Again, the Bible warns us more of heretics, and false teachers more than anything else, and Talarico was extremely disappointing. If he wins, he will lead tens of thousands down the wrong path.

I don't think abortion should be normalized. I'm just asking about the average person using their religion or Bible as the support to go after those who are, at least, pro choice.

In the OT, there are multiple references to God knowing who we are before we are born. He is said to have created us in our mother's womb. In the OT, it is very clear that the teachings are that unborn people are still human beings. Arguing against life beginning at conception when referring to the Bible is a giant, losing hand.

There are also several references to God destroying peoples because of their sin, and often one of those sins is child sacrifice. And that is what abortion is.
I get that non-Christians might not care, but the Bible is pretty clear. For Talarico to claim that it is not, tells me that he is a snake politician disguised as a pastor.

Agreed. To me, it's not about when conception begins, more on just should it be legal or not to kill an unborn child in this country.

Also, saying that God is against abortion isn't true. Unborn people being human beings doesn't mean he said those unborn human beings shouldn't or couldn't be killed for whatever (right or wrong) reason. Though, if he did say that, I stand corrected.

Thou Shalt Not Kill. It's right there at number 6. Hard to miss.

It is not a huge logical leap to say that you shouldn't kill the thing that God "knit together in my mother's womb".

If you have trouble making that logical deduction, it would appear to me that you are being purposefully obtuse.

Quote:

I get that non-Christians might not care, but the Bible is pretty clear. For Talarico to claim that it is not, tells me that he is a snake politician disguised as a pastor

He's a supporter of gender ideology, gay rights, transgender rights, abortion access, border access...

So what is his response, to scripture being antithetical to his positions?...he changes the meaning of scripture.

He said not providing abortion access or additional LGBTQ rights is 'deeply unchristian'. He used the book of Luke, completely distorts the account of what happened when Mary finds out she is pregnant, and uses it as a defense for abortion. Good gosh almighty.

His defense against Christian Nationalism is extremely undefined...its just a catch-phrase. It's not that he wants separation, like he states, but he argues that simple morals found in scripture cannot be a reason people vote against these measures. Why? Why are these ideals exempt, simply because they're also found in Christianity?

In 2021, to the State legislature, he said, "God is nonbinary" and said he was just citing what the Bible preaches. He referenced Galatians 3, taking it COMPLETLY out of context. Paul was saying there is no difference, with regards to salvation...that it's for everyone. Talarico decided to apply that and say there is no such thing as a male/female and God is trans. This of course, completely ignores the rest of scripture, even the most basic verse in Genesis which states God created them male and female.

He uses Matthew 25, which pertains to the actions of Christians, as justification for free Medicare for all, and opening the borders and bringing the world in. And in the same breath, says he's against imposing our faith on our political system when it comes to killing babies, or LGBTQ, or trans...

He acts like he's just protecting 'our neighbors' from imposition of Christianity...but the result is his efforts to erase it, or white-wash it to look like the world's desires. It's either a massive over-correction, or evil in sheep's clothing. I think it's the latter, born out of his own selfish desires.

He is repulsive to me. Even if I weren't a Christian, the fact that he's so effortlessly deceptive is enormously worrisome.

2 Peter:
2 But false prophets also appeared among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. 2 Many will follow their indecent behavior, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; 3 and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

To be fair, I dont watch any of them but was curious, so I looked it up. These are his numbers with the key demo (Adults 18-49):

Show.....Average Viewers (thousands).....Change from Previous Year
Kimmel.....230.....(+4%)

Colbert.....229.....(-19%)

He's still #1, but shrinking year over year, as he lost 1/5 of his audience this past year.

So I guess if Trump's saying it, he's right.

What recepts are there to show?

CBS legal team advised the Colbert team of the equal time rule, noting that an interview of Talarico might raise an FCC issue WITH THE CROCKETT team on equal time ahead of the PRIMARY ELECTION.

ie. There was ZERO communication from the FCC, Trump, or anyone within the government. Not a single Republican was involved with any of this. None. Nada. Zippo.

There was also no ban, blocking, or denial of having the Talarico interview aired on network TV. There was only the pointing out that CBS would likely need to provide Crockett with equal time in some sort or fashion if they did indeed air the interview. Agan, NO Republicans at play in this conversation because we're talking about the PRIMARY election, not the GENERAL.

All of the hyperbole about the Trump FCC "blocking" the interview, and the "fight" for freedom of speech is a MASSIVE Red Herring to the general populace and the TDS mind. And, as stated above, it appears to have worked with Democrats.
