I am sure there is a voter analysis out there somewhere. I recall seeing that foreign-born residents of NYC are what put the Commie there in power. Same thing happening in MN, MI and other places.

I suspect most of those who want to leave NY are relatively conservative, white and middle class. The foreigners will celebrate when those folks leave.

Culture is everything and if we don't preserve ours, we will not have a country we recognize.

All part of the plan.

Metastisize native born liberal voters to Florida and Texas to spread

Replace them with even more foreign born people not loyal to America at all.

Suddenly NYC isn't even an American city anymore. It's a Globalist City State colony within our borders.

I don't think that will work for New York. As they say, you can take the kid out of the hood, but you can't take the hood out of the kid. Multiply that by a million in the city and surrounding areas. Not saying everyone there is a hood -- most probably aren't. And it isn't ALWAYS an arrogance or feeling of superiority. Just a mindset of "this is our city and we respect our own but not many others." As I said on another thread, they think people from Jersey are idiots and people from the south are hicks.

So yeah, it kinda is an arrogance, but honestly, what Texan doesn't have something similar -- though we are FAR more accommodating to outsiders. Anyway, the point here is that New Yorkers aren't looking to leave. Many of them will, but it will be kicking and screaming. The people putting together this plan you speak of ARE (or certainly include) New Yorkers.

The dumbest thing for NY and California is to go on this "Let's crush the Billionaires!" insanity considering in places like this a huge proportion of the tax revenue comes from a very small group of people on top. It takes thousands of regular taxpayers to replace one of them or significantly more for a billionaire.

It's worth noting that this poll is about New York State and not New York City specifically. It focuses primarily on the job Governor Hochul is doing as well as the state's senators.

  • While not at her highest approval level, she and improved over last year. Her disapproval rating has also fallen.
  • There are also increases in the number of people who think the state is moving in the right direction, though still not a majority.
  • When it comes to moving from the state, fewer people want to move out compared to 2024 (37%) but up 1% from April 2025
  • Of the reasons as to why they want to move, Economic reasons slightly edged out non-economic reasons (19% vs 14%). In 2024 the percentage of people wanting to leave for economic reasons was 21%
Of course all of this is a moot point as the population of the state has grown almost every year for decades. Covid led to a slight dip of a couple 100K but current estimates put it at or near precovid levels.

What ??? Wow talk about polishing a turd.

NY's pop growth has been stagnate at best, for decades. Its economic and population growth rates have been dwarfed by Red States such Texas, which has long passed NY in absolute eco activity, FL, Ga, NC, etc- for decades. Now NYC has gone full on socialist and completely into the toilet.

And these idiot leftest think NY is heading in the "right direction" ? just more proof hat a lefty brain is a damaged brain driven mad by political rabies.

  • Real GDP growth for 2025 was higher in New York than in Texas
  • Personal Incomes in NY are growing at a faster right than Texas

Rather than start a new thread, I thought this kinda fits here...

Trump and Mamdani met, and discussed Federal Grants of $21 Billion to build 12,000 units of affordable housing.

Lessee, that's about $1.75 Million per unit...

Of course, the funds are a grant -never have to be repaid- and Mamdani's NYC budget proposal includes $2.9 Billion for affordable housing...that's about 1646 units, at the above unit price...

And, keep in mind, that the city is going to get the money, and supposedly construct the units...or whatever they are.

No chance of pricing fraud, right? Or Trades skimming profit, or Mamdani taking several around the world cruises...per year.

Nah, no chance for fraud, right. And I assume the city will secure and maintain the title to the land...and the buildings...

That is not GDP growth!. That is an annualized projection based on those quarters.

To do any real comparison, you have to look back in time. The mean real GDP growth rate for the last decade is:

Texas: 3.64%
New York: 1.94%

Texas has dwarfed new York!

eta: your posts don't change the fact that 33% of the people are looking to get out. That is a disaster.

No one is leaving NYC in a good economy. If you earn a lot of money, and a lot of New Yorkers do, a rotten government doesn't really affect you that much.

It's the same reason the death of California is overrated. Ya so you pay 55% tax. When your income doubles and triples every few years, no one gives a *****

Nothing is going to change with Mamdani. NYC is a juggernaut that even a commie will find hard to stop. Like California it will survive despite its dumbass politicians.

Take a movie instead of a 1 year snap shot. Texas recovered far far faster than NY from Covid. 2025 was NY's first recovery year. And after electing the Commie you love, NY is about to have an even great capital flight out. Oh and 33% of its pop would get out if they could.

Thought I saw something a while back that confirmed that Californian transplants in TX tend to vote significantly MORE conservative than the Texas avg.

I've been surprised most of the California transplants I've met are all conservative.
