They've been doing it for 5 years. I'll blame it on Salah becoming a star and COVID adding additional breaks. There were only around 40 Muslims in the Premier League 10 yrs ago and 55 now.

I remember those games well - including during the NBA championships. Hakeem was a beast.
Today's soccer game paused at sundown for a water break. Olajuwon's games were either during the day or night, but not overlapping sundown. Fasting ends at sundown.
