With all politics and "rules" (laws), is it possible to do an arms "trade" with Ukraine where they pay off their debt to us by supplying us with tons of cheap drones?
Could we get Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, or Georgia to let us launch drone carrying ships from their ports on the captain sea?
It seems Ukraine has really mastered optimizing "bang for the buck." Depending on which model, our suicide drones are $6-50k on the low end, $100k for a mid tier unit. Comparable Ukrainian models are $100s of dollars on the low end, $10k for mid tier. If we combine that with our ability to completely wipe out their air defenses, it seems they would be very effective. Once take out border security, could we not send in automated vehicles carry drones, protected by drones, more inland to have better access to targets further from the cost with the cheaper low range drones?
It seems we could accomplish the effects boots on the ground without actually putting boots on the ground. We would develop/practice a new generation type warfare (essentially a real life training exercise) at a bargain price.
Ukraine could start exporting to other NATO countries as well and start paying back their debt to us.
