Haven't been registered to vote in Texas in 40 years so forgive this dumb question. Can the Republicans that crossed over to vote Democrat in the Primary vote in the Runoff.

That makes sense. Can voters that did not vote in the Primary vote in the Runoff? What about new voters?

Nope

If you did not vote in a primary you can vote in either the Dem or Rep runoff but not both.

Don't know about a registration deadline for the runoff. Go register online today and see what the website says.

I am a New Mexico resident now. Just trying to understand the process. Am I correct, given how close the Republican race was, that progressives who did not vote in the initial primary could now vote in the runoff and influence the election?

In order to make this make sense...

There is NO party affiliation to register in Texas. You become affiliated with a party if you vote in a Primary and that affiliation is determined by which party's Primary you vote in. If you did not vote in a Primary then your affiliation is still open to vote in a Run-off.

If they truly were "anyone but D" type of voters, then they should be happy with their attempt at getting Crocket the nomination. It didn't work, but they should be content with either Cornyn/Paxton.

However if they were adament "only Cornyn can beat the D", or "anyone but Cornyn" types, then yes they should have voted in the GOP primary and voting in the D primary was a mistake.

Let's not poke fun at them as a whole. Their D primary vote decision could still have had merit depending on what their goals were for the general.

Cornyn surging in betting odds. I bet Trump will pick him because he is the safer bet of beating Talarico. Not saying that's who I want, but that's the reasoning.

Yep I want Cornyn because I think he has the best chance of winning the general. However I'm supporting and donating to whoever wins, be it Paxton or Cornyn

Maybe Trump should ask Paxton to replace Bondi as the AG if he endorses John Wayne Cornyn.

Might be good politically for Trump but that senate confirmation for Paxton would be tough. Good entertainment though
