For the most part I agree, but there are a lot of people who voted red in 2024 who were expecting a lot more America first and a revitalization of the US economy.
These are the types of people who might just stay home in November because they feel hopeless about either political party. The voters in the Rust Belt who swung Trump's way in 2024 were not regular voters or were middle ground swing voters.
When you make promises about economic growth, taming inflation, etc and these people instead see the president naming things after himself and giving awards to himself it's just going to be a turnoff.
