Lmao nobody wants to fight a war for isreal bro. Only the boomer generation wants this and it's because Fox News has programmed you to think that way. Independent media played such a huge role in getting Trump across the finish line, and some of you guys need to step out of the Fox News/CNN/MSNBC world and actually understand how people feel about this dumbass war.
Like I've said before, democrats are going to bury republicans in the mid terms. And it's not because they actually had to look themselves in the mirror and reverse course on any dumb ass policies/culture issues. Trump literally handed everything to them with this war.
Your take is insulting and quite frankly, a Democrat tactic.
To claim that a highly educated Aggie with a lifetime of experience is being "programmed" by anything insults my intelligence. In order to teach you some empathy, what would you think if I suggested that all you stupid millennials are programmed by the intellectual lightweight and comedian Joe Rogan?
Democrats use this tactic when they suggest the only reason you or I voted for Trump is because Trump has some kind of cultish hold on our brains. He doesn't. He was the better choice over Harris or Biden or Hillary and we wanted the border closed.
Yes and he closed the border. In that case we got what we voted for. Joe Rogan is mainly a podcast for entertainment purposes. But he does have on guest who are independent journalists and don't have information and opinions that are bought and paid for like all of Legacy media.
I'm a millennial and we watched your generation pay for the Iraq war. All of you absolutely hated how bad cost of living got, and only once Trump came along and started saying how dumb that war was is when everybody on the republicans side felt it was ok to agree. It became pretty unanimous that these Middle East wars are not popular and almost nobody wants them after we were lied to about them. Trump literally ran on this, it was what he built his third campaign run on. To turn around and go fight a war on Israel's behalf only a little over a year in his second term is such a slap in the face to the people that helped him get across the finish line. Trump won the YOUTH vote. When does that happen for republicans? The popular vote as well. I thought Trump would be different but instead he will go down as another George bush/Dick Cheney Neo con republican to me.
But hey, who cares. I'm just one vote. If I sit out the midterms it won't matter.
I served in Iraq in combat. I didn't fully agree with Trump's attacks on Bush during the South Carolina debate, but I supported him anyway because of what I saw with illegal immigration at the border. I'm perfectly capable of forming my own opinions based on firsthand experience.
On the "Bush lied, people died" line: At the time, virtually everyone believed Saddam had WMDs. We flew missions with chem gear, were issued nerve agent antidotes, and ran WMD drills constantly. Every SCUD launch had us wondering if it was chemical or biological. Desert Storm never truly ended it became Operations Northern and Southern Watch, and then Desert Fox (1998) with Iraq shooting at us almost daily. I eventually transferred to the reserves partly because I was exhausted from repeated six-month deployments to Diego Garcia every time Saddam kicked out the weapons inspectors who were apparently looking for nothing since Rogan and Trump told you Saddam should be declared innocent of having or attempting to develop WMDs.
The Iraq War needed to be brought to an end, and President Bush did it.
That "Bush lied, people died" slogan Trump sometimes echoes was originally pushed hard by Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer to damage Bush politically ahead of the 2006 midterms right in the middle of the Surge, when a lot of Aggies and other troops were in the heaviest fighting in the Sunni Triangle. Some of those fallen have their names written on the walls of the crapper at the Dixie Chicken.
When Trump uses that rhetoric, it stings. It implies those of us who served were sent to fight for a lie. That's false, and it disrespects the sacrifice.
As for independent media and podcasters like Joe Rogan being immune to influence: they're not. Plenty of big influencers are bought and paid for too. Follow @CurrentRevolt (Tony Ortiz) he occasionally exposes the "pay-to-tweet" offers that circulate in those circles. Trump's fired digital media guy, Brad Parscale, even has a company out of Midland, Texas, that pays influencers to push messages they might not otherwise support. You know, things like, 'Ken Paxton is innocent.'
I respect that you're a millennial who voted for Trump and helped give him the youth vote. But painting an entire generation as brainwashed "boomers" who only support Israel because of Fox News is the same condescending tactic Democrats use when they claim Trump supporters are in a cult. Most of us are capable of thinking for ourselves based on decades of experience.
If I had to go to war today, I'd want the IDF on my side, not on the sidelines. Between the IDF air force and Mossad, we have excellent force multipliers against Iran. Fox News didn't tell me to say that, either.
