Today's populace(not our soldiers) would have been ready to call it quits 1 week into Operation Overlord or the Guadalcanal Campaign. Could you imagine today's weak populace actually having to ration here at home?

and the point to my post and intention is to answer the question:

how did this happen?!

how did one of the strongest most martial countries in the history of the world become filled with leftist pansies and betas who are some of the most ignorant dummies in American history.

the USA entered World War One because the most left wing "progressive" President Woodrow Wilson wanted us to get into the war.

and 67,000 Americans died- for what?!?!

but when a Republican President demolishes the greatest terroristic country which was on the brink of building multiple nuclear bombs with fourteen casualties-

suddenly it's the end of the world for leftists.

Lmao nobody wants to fight a war for isreal bro. Only the boomer generation wants this and it's because Fox News has programmed you to think that way. Independent media played such a huge role in getting Trump across the finish line, and some of you guys need to step out of the Fox News/CNN/MSNBC world and actually understand how people feel about this dumbass war.

Like I've said before, democrats are going to bury republicans in the mid terms. And it's not because they actually had to look themselves in the mirror and reverse course on any dumb ass policies/culture issues. Trump literally handed everything to them with this war.

OP is comparing this joke sham bs attack to the Civil War or WW2? Brother, you've got issues. Step back from Fox and Mark Levin.

Who do you suggest we listen too ? Humor me.

And btw the Civil War in this argument is controversial despite you buying into the Union view point. A Union supply fleet featuring the Star of the West forced the action at Sumpter by trying to force their way to the fort by sailing past the land batteries the rebs set up to prevent resupply. So like many things I guess it depends on who and how its viewed.

WW2 is the clear case here. Oh please tell me who I should be listening too.

This is a war for isreal. This doesn't help cost of living go down for the average American one bit. The older generation seems to think the younger generation lacks any kind of patriotism. Younger people WANT to sign up, but with the Iraq war disaster, and nothing really making sense as to why we actually at war with Iran right now, nobody wants to sign up and die for a bunch of politicians that get their pockets fat and campaigns funded by AIPAC. This war benefits isreal more than it benefits us. You know that and the younger generation does as well. You will see how America feels about this when the mid terms roll around.

That makes a huge difference. If you are the aggressor state you better be an autocracy with a tight grip over your population.

We've been attacked for 47 years. They were like a rabid dog nipping at our heals. They'd have gone all "Pit Bull" on us if they had nukes. It was time to put that dog down.

Americans are mad that 49% number you quoted is bad but a year and half ago we had hope. Majority voted for mass deportation and no new wars. That 51% somehow got the president we wanted but look what he has done. We aren't deporting Illegals lowering the cost of insurance or gas. He chose to do the opposite raise the price of gas on everyone to protect Israel.

When you tell people 9 months ago that the nuclear capabilities are completely obliterated, and any questioning of that complete obliteration was treated as fake news, it's going to be harder to get people on board when you're telling the Iran is an immediate threat.

My parents were of age during WWII. Had three uncles serving, one with Eisenhower's staff.

Pearl Harbor was a huge shock to America as a whole. Men even too young to serve were flocking to enlist and eating bananas and drinking gallons of milk to hit he weight target to be eligible. (American vet who was underaged and skinny told me that. He was at Iwo Jima.)

As the men left, women stepped up to replace them. The war effort was everything. Converting private industry to defense, food rationing, lack of other materials (Mom used a makeup powder to make her legs appear as she was wearing nylon hose since nylon was needed for parachutes) selling war bonds and so forth.

America was the "sleeping giant" that was very rudely awakened and responded en mass. The response to 9/11 was much less than the American people's response and willingness to suffer deprivations towards Pearl Harbor.

I remember my mom telling me a story of she and dad going to Houston from S. Texas and staying in a hotel in Edna, TX. she heard through the wall of the hotel a radio broadcast announcing the attack on Pearl. Had one uncle who was shot in the neck in the hedgerows of Normandy (lived and a great story) and another uncle who passed in a transport plane crash here in the US. Never got to meet him but the Normandy uncle was a great dude.

The uncle that served on Eisenhower's staff was my Dad's oldest brother (Class of '38 IIRC) but he could speak German. That tapped him for a rapid rise as well as being an A&M grad. He spent the next thirty five years in the Army before retiring to become a postman for twenty years. He was a double dipper with government pensions and led a very interesting life as he was stationed in D.C. after the war for many years.

He didn't talk much about his time as an aide to Ike but he talked a lot about how screwed up DC was.

If it were WW2 today Democrats would be actively rooting for Germany and Japan to win in the hopes that it would gain them more power. Every night the MSM would tell the public how many losses of men and material we lost (with zero context to any losses suffered by the enemy) and portray it as catastrophic and that we were days from losing and needed to surrender immediately

Yes and he closed the border. In that case we got what we voted for. Joe Rogan is mainly a podcast for entertainment purposes. But he does have on guest who are independent journalists and don't have information and opinions that are bought and paid for like all of Legacy media.

I'm a millennial and we watched your generation pay for the Iraq war. All of you absolutely hated how bad cost of living got, and only once Trump came along and started saying how dumb that war was is when everybody on the republicans side felt it was ok to agree. It became pretty unanimous that these Middle East wars are not popular and almost nobody wants them after we were lied to about them. Trump literally ran on this, it was what he built his third campaign run on. To turn around and go fight a war on Israel's behalf only a little over a year in his second term is such a slap in the face to the people that helped him get across the finish line. Trump won the YOUTH vote. When does that happen for republicans? The popular vote as well. I thought Trump would be different but instead he will go down as another George bush/Dick Cheney Neo con republican to me.

But hey, who cares. I'm just one vote. If I sit out the midterms it won't matter.

But hey, who cares. I'm just one vote. If I sit out the midterms it won't matter.

I served in Iraq in combat. I didn't fully agree with Trump's attacks on Bush during the South Carolina debate, but I supported him anyway because of what I saw with illegal immigration at the border. I'm perfectly capable of forming my own opinions based on firsthand experience.

On the "Bush lied, people died" line: At the time, virtually everyone believed Saddam had WMDs. We flew missions with chem gear, were issued nerve agent antidotes, and ran WMD drills constantly. Every SCUD launch had us wondering if it was chemical or biological. Desert Storm never truly ended it became Operations Northern and Southern Watch, and then Desert Fox (1998) with Iraq shooting at us almost daily. I eventually transferred to the reserves partly because I was exhausted from repeated six-month deployments to Diego Garcia every time Saddam kicked out the weapons inspectors who were apparently looking for nothing since Rogan and Trump told you Saddam should be declared innocent of having or attempting to develop WMDs.

The Iraq War needed to be brought to an end, and President Bush did it.

That "Bush lied, people died" slogan Trump sometimes echoes was originally pushed hard by Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer to damage Bush politically ahead of the 2006 midterms right in the middle of the Surge, when a lot of Aggies and other troops were in the heaviest fighting in the Sunni Triangle. Some of those fallen have their names written on the walls of the crapper at the Dixie Chicken.

When Trump uses that rhetoric, it stings. It implies those of us who served were sent to fight for a lie. That's false, and it disrespects the sacrifice.

As for independent media and podcasters like Joe Rogan being immune to influence: they're not. Plenty of big influencers are bought and paid for too. Follow @CurrentRevolt (Tony Ortiz) he occasionally exposes the "pay-to-tweet" offers that circulate in those circles. Trump's fired digital media guy, Brad Parscale, even has a company out of Midland, Texas, that pays influencers to push messages they might not otherwise support. You know, things like, 'Ken Paxton is innocent.'

I respect that you're a millennial who voted for Trump and helped give him the youth vote. But painting an entire generation as brainwashed "boomers" who only support Israel because of Fox News is the same condescending tactic Democrats use when they claim Trump supporters are in a cult. Most of us are capable of thinking for ourselves based on decades of experience.

If I had to go to war today, I'd want the IDF on my side, not on the sidelines. Between the IDF air force and Mossad, we have excellent force multipliers against Iran. Fox News didn't tell me to say that, either.

The most assigned economist to study today is Karl Marx, who was a filthy, pathetic man who couldn't ever provide for his own family, and inspired a generation of failed revolutionaries to crush their nations/peoples via his writings.

Education is the most important of those categories (reference to Marx at the end).

Quote:

The high level of Marx veneration in modern academic life makes for a strange juxtaposition with the track record of Marx's ideas. The last century's experiments in Marxist governance left a trail of economic ruination, starvation, and mass murder. When evaluated on a strictly intellectual level, Marx's theories have not fared much better than their Soviet, Chinese, Cambodian, Cuban, or Venezuelan implementations. Marx constructed his central economic system on the labour theory of value an obsolete doctrine that was conclusively debunked by the "marginal revolution" in economics in the 1870s. Capital was also riddled with internal circularities throughout, including its inability to reconcile the pricing of labour as an input of production with labour as a priced value onto itself. By the turn of the 20th century, Marx's predictive claims about the immiserating forces of capitalism were confronted with the tangible reality of growing and widening levels of prosperity.

By every measure of its own merit, Marx's economic system should have been relegated to the dustbin of intellectual history and for a brief moment it was. Marx's Capital struggled to find an audience in his own lifetime. He died in 1883 in relative obscurity and with little following outside of a small band of fanatical leftists led by his friend Friedrich Engels. Even among fellow socialists, Marx was a controversial figure. He spent the last decade of his life locked in endless internecine feuds with anarchists, non-revolutionary socialists, and even other competitor revolutionary factions. For decades after his death, he faced credible accusations of plagiarising his theories from other writers. The Manifesto has more than a few arguments that strongly resembled an 1843 pamphlet by French socialist writer Victor Considerant, and Marx's doctrine of "surplus value" closely follows an earlier work by democratic socialist thinker Johann Karl Rodbertus.

When mainstream economists first noticed Marx's work in the years following his death, they made mincemeat of his doctrines over their aforementioned contradictions. Alfred Marshall, in his 1890 textbook, described Capital as an exercise in circular reasoning "shrouded in mysterious Hegelian phrases." When John Maynard Keynes assessed Marx's works in 1925, he dismissed Capital as "an obsolete economic textbook […] without interest or application for the modern world."

More at the link. Marx' veneration imho is just an indicia of the infectious rot in education writ large.

The Crisis: The military, particularly the Army, faced the toughest recruiting environment in 50 years, with the Army missing its 60,000-person goal by 15,000 in 2022.

Recruitment Under Trump (2025 to Present)
Performance: The military has experienced a strong surge in early 2025, with the Army meeting its FY25 goals months early.

"Trump Bump" Claims: The Trump administration and supporters cite a surge in applicants immediately following the November 2024 election.
