Long way until the elections, but right now Republicans are in a strong position to keep control of the U.S. Senate.

Unlike in 2006 & 2018 cycles, the GOP actually leads the Dems on net favorability at this point!

They certainly skew left

Democrats are likely more energized to go vote this November. I'm concerned Republicans will be apathetic due to a stagnant or flailing economy, ongoing mess in the Middle East, not deporting illegals fast enough, not moving fast enough to charge fraudsters, no justice for the Epstein victims, etc

The Democrats have not helped themselves by engaging in a race to the leftist extreme to virtue signal to the activist left and donor leftist classes and put themselves on the short side of every major Pareto issue. That, and they have a lot of pretty terrible candidates and a LOT of corruption keeps being highlighted.

The Republicans somehow have taken the middle on a lot of issues simply by being the less radical or extreme option by default. This will be a turnout election, and Republicans will benefit if they also can motivate a strong general turnout somehow. The house will be a problem but the Senate does look more favorable.

There is no way CNN is showing Rs ahead unless their polls show it.

If you don't believe they are accurate, fine. But they were also not accurate in 2018 then. If using the same methodology and margin of error, Rs are ahead of where they were in 2018 at this point - one inaccurate poll in 2018 compared to another now. 2018 was the last midterm when Rs had control during midterm election.

Some of this is due to the left wing of the Democratic party holding unfavorable views of the current Dem landscape. They want the Democrats to go more left so they are expressing disappointment. The Socialist wing of that group is never going to be happy.

The same applies to the right. Many believe Trump has failed on immigration, arresting Democrats, Epstein, spending, etc... That's a wash, imo.

It'll be interesting to see of maga will actually turn out without trump on the ballot

They may lead on favorability but my guess no party is in favor.

It's believable. Every soundbite from every democrat is just TDS. They never talk about any issues but to get Trump.

This is coming down to a race of "Which party do you detest less?"

For me, it's always been the R's. I still detest them, but not enough to vote for a D.
