Waymos are dangerous. I wouldn't trust them. I see them all the time doing crazy stuff in downtown Austin...and I read an article that says they sometimes blow by school busses with their stop signs out.

Not true. Very safe. Multitudes safer than human drivers.

Well, I mean are you talking about a random ******* on 35 or an uber driver, from a passenger perspective?

I wouldn't imagine that bad drivers could work for ride-share for very long.

They do

I recommend reading "The Technology Trap".

There have been tradeoffs with new technology for centuries. How much good is the "common good" versus the reality of a minority that simply cannot "learn to code".

I don't think there is a right or wrong answer, so it all depends on who won the elections and what they decide to do. In the long run, good technology will win out and adjustments are made and/or accommodated for.

I like the tech and it seems impossible to do but progress is great, but I think there are so many things that could go wrong and kill people.

It's not just enough to say people are Luddites. Anything not in control of humans and where human lives are on the line is risky.

Mamdani's job is to watch out for NYC, not corps. So it is a balancing act for him also.

I don't know what is right at this point.

Funniest thing I've read in a while

Who do you see driving most the taxis in NYC? That's why Mamdani is doing this.
