Floyd Lee Cathon (61) had 20 years of previous sex crime convictions against children including:
  • Aggravated Rape
  • Aggravated Incest
  • Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile (2x)
After his newest rape (against an underage family member), Judge Ramona Emanuel has sentenced Cathron to castration. Judge Emanuel is letting Cathron choose whether it will be surgical or chemical. LA started allowing judges this option in 2024.

A shout out to Judge Emanuel for giving the maximum penalty she could.

His lawyer will likely cite the 8th amendment against cruel and unusual punishment in appeals.

This should be the usual punishment for pieces of human trash like this. Along with his 40 years of hard labor.

EDIT - LA here is Louisiana, sorry for the lack of clarity!

Is there a permanent form of castration through chemicals? Was not aware of that.

Germans were doing it in the 1930's with those they felt were unfit for "their" society. Mental health patients, men who were homosexual and certain sexual crimes.

Decisions decisions.

Just cut it off entirely and play it on loop in his prison cell the rest of his life.

Unfortunately, chemical castration is not permanent and requires regular redosing. But the side effects may be worse than surgical, depending on the treatment.

Wow, 3 cheers for that judge and in CA of all places. How the hell did they get that passed? Maybe it was a workaround for helping speed up a gender swap, at the taxpayer's expense. ?

I say if he loses his appeal it should automatically shift to the immediate dull, rusty knife method with no anesthesia and alcohol baths to stave off infection. It has to be worse than death or what's the point.
I don't think you know me.

Hitler had a good idea.

Please don't take the previous sentence out of context.

I didn't think so. Libido can be suppressed by chemicals but not permanently. Need B-Mod to do that.

Skinner was correct. A Clockwork Orange was wrong. Completely wrong. Behavioral modification works, always has.

If you've been treated for prostate cancer you used some of the same old school hormone therapy to lower testosterone levels that they are talking about with chemical castration. It's not cruel or unusual. Should be given to every multiple offender.

Kudos to this judge.
The law is behind though. This should have been life without parole long ago. 3 strikes and you're no longer ever going to be a part of society.

This guy needs a boat anchor around his ankles as millstones probably aren't as prevalent as they were 2000 years ago.

Analogous to lethal injection being essentially a general anesthetic induction without a respiratory rescue. Nothing cruel or unusual about that as it happens before the vast majority of surgical procedures, tens of thousands of times a day.

To me doesn't even qualify as a punishment. Now he doesn't have to worry about being a rapist baby daddy.

Now if they used dull scissors or rubber band method you'd have my attention.

His two choices should be burned at the stake or being impaled alongside all the judges and DAs and others who have allowed this vermin to continue to do what he has done. Make a party of it.

I do agree with the punishment, but think it's too light. My question is how could you let this man near your children? This is yet another case where he assaulted a relative. Who in their right mind keeps allowing him around their children?

Mind boggling that a family member would allow him to be in a position to make that possible given his track record.

I don't want to Google the answer, so I'm asking here.

How does castration solve the rape problem? Can he no longer get hard?

In any case, he should spend the rest of his life in jail.
