There is no way they could pivot at this point, even if they wanted to. Too much of it is in the United States and the venues here are better and bigger than Mexico and Canada.

I generally agree with the replies about it not being a big deal to skip the venues for enforcement. Not a lot of illegals can afford the tickets, so Trump should make FIFA bend the knee and give them that, though I'd make an exception for SoFi because of the threatened strike.

The problem is the OP is about FIFA now asking for no enforcement in the entire hosting city, which is a massive no go.

Went to Mexico-Iceland a couple of years ago at Jerryworld. About the only white people there. It was wild. Recommend going to a game against Mexico so you can see all the hubbub with that.

Wear a poncho. You are likely going to get beer thrown on you in celebration (not out of anger).

Plenty of opportunities for illegals to be working for vendors, driving ride shares, etc. ICE should absolutely be at the stadiums and everywhere else.

There are soccer fields all around Houston filled with illegal aliens on Sat and Sundays. Thousand's of illegals.

If they don't go there a nab those folks, then ICE should not arrest anyone. That doesn't mean that illegals shouldn't be arrested for being drunk and disorderly and all of the other arrest types that are associated with events.

Yeah, I agree with this. Non-citizens in the stadiums are much more likely to be legal visitors than almost any other place in the US. But the rest of the cities are fair game.

When it was in Qatar 4 years ago, as I recall, they quickly folded on their gay pride match game 'one love' attire, which for some FIFA reason was a tradition/thing.
