Almost any fall can be potentially fatal when you're almost 80 years old. A large ER will see AT LEAST one life ending or permanently life altering fall in a patient around that age every single day.

One, falling off a ladder lead to my FIL's death and complications from a fall down some steps will be the ultimate cause of a BIL's demise. Both resulted in a single blow to the head.

at the time it happened it was at least first reported as a fall. and looking it up it says it happened on the bunny slopes during a lesson. so it's not like she skied into a tree. point is, even a seemingly "minor" hit to the head can kill.

No no no, you own up to that. Don't be coming into F16 and apologizing, that's not how it works around here.

Speaking of head injury, never forget my grandmother keeling over because she "had" to go into her garden and tend to the flowers right after she was released from the hospital. Bent over, go light headed and hit her head on a border stone, few hours later, she passed away. I chuckled as I told my mom, I knew grandma would die gardening. We both stood there laughing. Oh how I miss that woman.

For real tho, orthopedics and physical therapists are LOVING how big pickleball has become.
Rolled ankles, muscle pulls, achilles tears. Big $$$ and boat payments.
