Does it really matter if a "mind altering substance" is ingested from a plant/fungus or synthesized in a manufacturing facility? A psychoactive molecule is a psychoactive molecule. Nobody takes psychedelic mushrooms because they like the taste better than the ones HEB sells.

Yesterday on FOX, talking head Tomie Lahren made a fool of herself by asking W. Bryan Hubbard why folks like her who hate recreational drug use should believe that legalizing Ibogaine treatment will not encourage people to play with it. Lots of patents out there for the treatment of addiction using Ibogaine. It's a relatively new molecule, and, while composition of matter patents have expired, plenty of method of use patents with a decade or so of life in them.

If/when Ibogaine gets approved by the FDA, there WILL be one company that has a monopoly on the molecule for at least a decade. Otherwise, we wouldn't see the approval push for it with so many lobby $$$'s. Claude / ChatGPT can give you a good summary of what is out there.

It has to be approved by the FDA first, and this EO by trump will speed up the time to approval.

If you want Ibogaine treatment, best bet is to do it over a weekend in Mexico or Vancouver. It's a one-and-done type treatment, not an ongoing treatment. And, you need to be monitored by a healthcare professional when you take it since blood pressure can potentially shoot up and you will be too trippy to help yourself if you are on your own.

My estimation is that this will never be more widely available than, say, morphine.
