I sincerely doubt that the French could project meaningful military power into Lebanon today. Probably worse odds than the UK successfully defending the Falklands against an Argentinian invasion today.

At this point I'm pretty sick of the arrogant, impotent, socialist, back stabbing Europeans. Trump should pull us out of NATO and leave them to deal with the Russians alone.

I was giving them the benefit of the doubt. So I said WW1, cause after the war was over, it was going to take nearly 30 years for the French replenish their army. Huge decline in male births starting in 1919, not to mention, 1.3 to 1.5 million French men died. Double that for wounded, so who knows how sexually active they were after the war. From then on, the French have played defense, that's worked out well for them.

Charles Martel was sort of French. I'd say we owe him a lot.

Well, that's probably more accurate. When Japan surrendered in 1945, Ho Chi Minh wanted Vietnam for the Vietnamese, and the French wanted their colony (that they abandoned to Japan) back

Western Europe is lost and not worth saving. As I have said many times, plan those trips and get over there before it's too late. We have a trip in June and last stop is Spain. On one hand, I am happy to see it because I've never been. On the other, not happy about spending a dollar in Spain right now.
