This really would not work. But I do think we need to increase the size of congress substantially. Currently the average congressional district has more than 750,000 people.

The first thing we need to do is realize the Founders were smarter than the people that came in an changed the structure of the system - which means we abolish the 17th Amendment and the selection of senators goes back to the state legislature and not a direct vote of the people.

We also need to go back to the system where actual taxpayers get to vote and those that pay no taxes and leech off of the system do not get to vote.

There are zero people in the United States that pay "no taxes"

There are zero people in the United States that pay "no Federal Taxes"

There are many people that do not pay federal income taxes.

I am good with limiting people that pay no federal taxes not getting to vote, but that is effectively zero people.

No it isn't, especially on a net basis.

Quite the reach here pal, even for you.

Not happening. If we are hoping for **** that won't happen how about no votes for those that don't pay income tax.

You do know that some of the richest people in the US have used the tax codes to pay ZERO income tax?

Not to derail, but… Louisiana. It's time to stop drinking and calling Counties "Parishes." I know you say you don't have a problem, but come on man. That's why all 49 states are here sitting in your living room today. We care about you. How can we support you going forward?

Congress passed a law to where every county ( or parish) in the nation has a congressional representative… that would truly solve the issue.. couldn't be more representative of the people's will.. I know I know, Democrats will say that's not fair because most rural counties have smaller populations who lean more conservative… sorry… and here is the caveat … the county pays for there congressional reps pay and it's based on whatever that county sets that pay at.. I'm just bored…. Rip me to shreds!

What if.....

You learned how to actually title thread topics instead of being a jerk and hiding the topic under the fold. We aren't selling that super secret ingredient that is going to regrow hair on your bald head and allow you to make $10,000 a week watching youtube videos at home if you both take the pill and follow my super-secret multi-tiered marketing plan.

This would actually be constitutional

I believe in household votes

When you are married, you can vote at any age

Once you have completed military service, you can vote at any age, even if single male or female

Unmarried 35

Any form of temporary welfare is a disqualifier

So what do you do in Virginia where you have a mix of cities and counties?

Why should the 50 residents of loving county get the same number of reps as the 5 million people in harris county?i

I would trust the 50 in Loving more than I would the 5,000,000 in Harrs.

Google Loving's elections history sometime when you have 15 minutes,

Breaking news: Harris, Bexar, Travis, and Dallas counties vote to split into 127 new counties.

I am shocked this only got 16 stars in 30 minutes

People were giving it the blue star because it was clever satire not because they endorsed the idea
HTH

When you have to explain satire, it's a lot less funny.

Explanations can be funny.

As a fiscal conservative I truly believe that is the best position for my Country. I wish the so called conservatives would spend their energy promoting that idea and less on manipulating the election process.

manipulating the process by trying to implement a basic anti-fraud control like showing an ID that proves the person voting is the person who is registered to vote?

Showing an ID is not the point of this thread. Trying to manipulate who can and cannot vote and trashing the "one man one vote" concept is. Our conservative message needs to appeal to both rural and urban voters.
