Same folks who are opposing everything about Iran think we need to go full bore behind Ukraine so they can strike deep into Russia. Brilliant plan there, worked out great for Napoleon and Hitler and back then Russia didn't have nukes. Ruben Gallego and these Dems are beyond idiots.

Gallego just wants more laundered money since some of the sources have been shut down. **** him. **** Ukraine.

The Vindmans can fight for Ukraine.

He can say whatever he wants, but we're not sending Kiev money any longer, and are significantly delaying key arms shipments/sales to replenish our stocks no matter how much Democrats complain about it.

I think his calculus/justification as to what we should do based on 'who is winning' as though it's a sports game is a bit absurd, at best. A few months ago, this clown was a dark horse Dem VP candidate.

ETA, I think the left is upset about $400 million/year 'Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative' (USAI) being cut in the Presidents' DoD budget request. This allowed Ukraine-specific weapons contracting within the pentagon budget.

Not the best clip/source, sorry, but I was trying to figure out the cause of Ruben's frustration above, this am.

Gallego should just send his earwax to Zelensky to smear on Putin, that should achieve his kind of victory

Anyone know the total amount we've given to Ukraine since their war began?

Edit to add: Copilot tells me it is about $185B.

I can tell which US politicians are getting kickbacks from Zelenskyy by the volume of their screaming in support of the Ukraine.

Ukraine doesn't need any more funding from us. From reading the Ukraine thread, they are already pushing Russia back by using their own drone tech. Hopefully, we just remove ourselves from that endeavor all together. Zero reason for us to be involved with it.

At least Iran has actual strategic value and relevance to rest of world whereas Ukraine has none.

Agree but with this caveat: China. Has not happened yet but there could develop a set of circumstances wherein China perceives Russia as too weak to repel a "modest" (whatever that is) land grab from Russia's east. Not an invasion and take over of Russia but lessen their size. (Read as access to key resources.)

Another four years at the rate Russia has been advancing would look pretty much the same as now.

Let Europe and Gallegos flush their money down that toilet. We have spent way more than warranted, which is $0.

They are net capturing territory back right now. Have been for a few weeks. Theyve also done considerable damage to Russian energy infrastructure lately. At the rate Russia is going, they will run out of military age males before they capture Ukraine.

I support the long term and slow destruction of the Iranian regime with limited to no ground troops.

I support our actions in Venezuela

I support an over throw of the Cuban regime with limited ground troops. Although this should be easy and right in our backyard.

I don't care about Ukraine at all. It's a manufactured war Biden created for corruption and the MIC.

Russia is a boomer fear. They've done nothing to me in my 45 years.
Ellis Wyatt

You won't because much of the money is unaccounted for. By design.

This is just another USAID with even less accountability. At least with Iran, the end result of a neutered iran will save American taxpayers significant money and resources. Ukraine is not going to destroy Russia no matter what, so there is no great result for America.

Feel free to send Zelenskyy personal checks if it makes you feel better.

Copilot I am not familiar with but likely in the right ball park. Trump has asserted the total of $300350 billion, which is higher than official U.S. government and independent estimates. Broader Ukraine-related efforts including U.S. operations in Europe, or roughly $127 billion in direct aid, plus some 'loans' that will never be repaid which we facilitated via the World Bank, or USAID/CIA-related 'assistance.' PURL notably has also been allowed to continue in '47.

Actual military/security assistance is in the $65 to 67 billion range, but part of that is due to the contentious nature of 'presidential draw downs' where the value of a fully depreciated MLRS system/missile for instance is fairly debatable and quite different vs. the replacement cost (but the other argument is we would have had to scrap them if not sent abroad).

Trump's $350 billion estimate probably includes the gray spending/valuations and less disclosed spending like USAI at issue this week, imho (not defending this fwiw, just speculating as he hasn't clarified).

Over the past two months Russia has lost net territory, and its largely on the back of Ukraine's own military development and European assistance.

All they really need from us at this point is intelligence assistance and that costs us basically nothing.

Seems it's going the OTHER way for Ukraine...

I legitimately imagine it did. I don't doubt that. That's why it's a boomer generation fear.

There is no Democrat "logic" involved with supporting Ukraine and opposing action in Iran. It's all about two things: protecting their cut of the funding going to Ukraine, and protecting the dubious Obama/Biden legacy of making no nukes deals with Iran. Trump is blowing up both. It's really as simple as that.

We were also reacting to our parents. When they were upset, we were scared. Was a toddler during the Cuban Missile Crisis. No idea what was really going on other than they were glued to the TV set and a lot of programming was preempted

Then JFK was shot. Was it the Soviets? A signal for a coming attack? Do we need to build a bomb shelter?

Of course it is. They don't care about Ukraine at all.

Remember during COVID when they made wearing a mask their overt, physical sign of "resistance" to Trump being POTUS? Everything they do is virtue signaling TDS.

His dad also wasn't flying over the North Poll with 4 Mk28 H-bombs with Gorky and Moscow as targets when Moscow wanted nukes in Cuba. He was gone a lot for airborne alert in those days. He also didn't get to experience Soviet made missiles falling on his dad in 'Nam, or Soviet planes and PILOTS trying to shoot down his future father in law. The Soviets kept Cuba, Egypt, Syria, North Korea, and various terror groups well supplied. The Russian Federation has continued to supply weapons to our enemies and been an economic rival in Africa and in the oil and gas arena. Only a fool would take an eye off of Russia.

Must be a typo. Its more like $113B on Iran already.
They are asking for 100s of billions more.

Thats all US taxpayer fund outflow. Any Trump deal probably includes sanctions relief for Iran worth 100s of billions of inflow on their end.
