Sounds like Mia or M.I.A. or whatever she calls herself needed some publicity and Dallas just happened to give it to her. Maybe she ought to try singing something worth listening to?

either she's just trying to get back at them OR Hollywood is really as bad as we thought...

She's not the first to say this. A rapper, can't remember name, said there were two doors to his career. Door #1 was sell your soul to the devil and door #2 was homosexuality. He chose independence.

Isn't this the one that flipped off the camera during her Super Bowl performance when saying something about America?

Who?

No, seriously. As an old, I know Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Selena Gomez, Olivia Rodrigo, Charlie XCX, and the ones over 40, but I've never heard of this one before.

Any chance she's doing this to try and get attention and then the accompanying support that turns into money?

Even as an old, you've heard her most popular song

Theme of the Young Offenders

A classic movie about two Irish lads from Cork and their search for missing cocaine shipment

Also Pineapple Express

This was the OG soundtrack usage, I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned yet.

Is it just a coincidence that people who are actually IN the music and movie industries consistently talk about satanic blood rituals, pedophilia, and gay sex as being rites of passage for many in those industries? Seems like it's probably not a coincidence.

Her big hit was nearly 20 years ago? lol...

And the rock I live under plays... rock. Not sure where I would have ever encountered this acoustic gem.

just every single grocery store, mall, gas station, etc. Kind of like how I'd rather never hear taylor swift's voice again, but if I need to go pick up a gallon of milk...I'm probably going to hear it.

It was also in slumdog millionaire (great movie). They say British but I think I recall that she was from Sri Lanka, and maybe she ended up in Britain. I knew one girl from Sri Lanka and she had a British accent because she went to a British private school.

That's cool. Still never heard it or I had I dismissed it as not interesting. Early 2000s music wasn't really holding up to 90s and classic rock.

Everyone likes what they like though. I'm not knocking it. Just don't recall it.

We all kind of hit a certain year and just stop listening to new music. Mine was around 2007. Any rock and country from the 70's-2007 (and 90s rap) is great music with most stuff past that being crap. I find new songs/artists that are the exception (Turnpike, Flatland, etc), but the nostalgia doesn't hit quite as hard as the old stuff, especially from '96-04 which were my HS and college years.

Also, with a teenage daughter, I hear all kinds of new crap music when she's in the car and takes over the radio. Some of it is catch, but most isn't. Luckily, she also loves 90's country and Turnpike, so I've got that going for me.

The only debate is how pervasive it is and how far it goes, it's not like they hide it. Or do you think Roman Polanski and his movies with how he is glorified is just a coincidence. The way Stanley Kubrick suddenly died as he was making final edits in "Eyes Wide Shut" is another. Epstein was tied into that scene and of course you have folks like Harvey Weinstein. P Diddy is in jail right now.

I don't know how true it is or how deep it goes but I do know that Hollywood and the music industry have a lot of very, very dark corners there. The question is how much of it is coordinated and how much of it is really rich and powerful people that have no boundaries or morality in how they use that power.

Yeah, I think that's mostly true. I love a lot of different types of music. I generally catch most good things pay quick today.

I've never cared for Latin or foreign sounding music sung in English. It just doesn't work.

Or Bad Bunny…he just sucks.

I find it very hard to imagine the Zac Brown Band is full of satanists.

considering I won tickets to see them at the Lincoln Memorial in a few weeks.

why would they headline TRUMP'S UFC 250 Event if they hated Republicans?!?!

The Zac Brown Band will headline the UFC Freedom 250 Fan Fest on The Ellipse in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, June 13, 2026. The free event, located south of the White House, features a 9:30 p.m. concert and precedes the UFC fight night at the White House the following day

Dallas is 65-35 blue to red, roughly. For a concert like this, it's probably 90-10.

For me, with my daughters, that's why I'm all up to date on most 2010s girly music but, I don't know if there has been any new music made since 2020 unless it's K-Pop, Country or maybe Bad Bunny.

Since SiriusXM in my car allows me to just remain frozen in the decade or genre of my choice, I'm not learning anything new at this point.

I read her Wikipedia and first off, she's 50 years old now. Wow.

Looks like she was born in the UK, went back to Sri Lanka and later ran the the UK as an asylum seeker with her mom. Fascinating.
