I understand not enjoying women's sports for whatever reason, but why knock it so hard? If you don't like it, don't watch it. I've watched one WNBA game in my life. But I've also only watched two NBA games in the past thirty years. But I don't begrudge anyone else for enjoying basketball.

I really don't care. I just laugh at it because it sucks so hard and it's another example where people try to tell us it's equal to men's sports when it's not. A lot of people turned on it when the women and their allies started crying about equal pay when no one watches them. And then a few of them actually claim they are as good as men.

It greatly amuses me that the NBA is politically stuck funding the WNBA forever. Wouldn't have existed otherwise.

I was actually a pretty big Women's National Team fan (soccer) before the militant lesbian joined the squad and ruined it for everyone. No surprise her wife just divorced her.

I still enjoy watching the USWNT. I started watching them with my daughter when she started played soccer and got hooked. It's definitely a different game than what the men play, but I still enjoy it. And Megan Rapinoe never bothered me. She was a great soccer player. Everything else was fluff.

Call me crazy but I think when you represent your country you should do so with pride and a passion to do so. So much of the "fluff" presented by some of those ladies was an insult to America and Americans. Compare and contrast that with the US Men's Hockey team.

Exactly. Rapinoe drug the team through the political sewer to promote her own politics and toxic personal brand. The team should have cut her soon after she started doing this, but they let her ruin the program.

My daughter started at slot receiver on the boys A team up until 8th grade. Amazing female athlete and they wanted her to play one more year but even she saw the writing on the wall…man it was fun watching her though!! Put her in at corner in her last game and of course they tried to go deep on her…she picked it and ran it back 40 yards!!!

Who's begrudging? Watch what the hell you want. Other people won't.

You seem to be offended that people put it down and those that watch it. Don't worry about what other people think.

To offend some people but women were created to look fantastic and to catch our eye

Not to go compete in battle each other like they're trying to go kill a bunch of wolves

In history the Spartans would take the most athletic young men between the ages of I think six to nine or seven to nine and send them off at night with torches and Spears to hunt wolves.

Definitely could and most likely would.

Speed alone would wipe out most WNBA.

High school forward is 6-6 can dunk, can out dribble 75% of the pro women, can out run 90% and has more stamina than almost all of them.

8th grade boys could whoop WNBA. It's pathetic

I wouldn't watch a WNBA game if you have me courtside tickets, but then I wouldn't watch an NBA game either. When I was in high school (and actually for several years after) girls played half-court, six-on-six basketball. Or so I read, never went to a game.

I do like girls' softball though.

The best advice I was ever given was to "stay in your lane".

Men will never equal a women's tolerance for pain. I present childbirth as an example.

I was out one night with a group and this came up, about how men could never handle pain like a woman, e.g. childbirth. One guy instantly responded and said that all men have handled pain more severe than childbirth. He said all men have been kicked in the balls at some point in life. He knew for a fact that it was more painful to get kicked in the balls than it was to have a baby. When one of the girls asked why he thought this, he said most women have more than one kid. They plan and try to get pregnant again to have another baby. No man has ever volunteered to be kicked in the nuts after experiencing it the first time.

Women's sports are only rewarding to the parents of the women playing and their girlfriends.

I grew up in the Panhandle/South Plains area, and every little school had girls BB, and had been playing for decades. As you said, it was two 3 on 3 teams, girls could only play half court. I guess they thought girls didn't have the stamina to go full court

When my mom played in the 1940s, the player with ball could only bounce it once, then they had to pass or shoot.

I was surprised to find later that most big Texas high schools did not have girls basketball, until forced by Title IX. This lead to many of the small schools beating the crap out of big schools, until the big schools were established

I personally saw class B and Class A teams in the 1980s beat the crap out of Dallas South Oak Cliff, in a tournament in Plainview, Texas. SOC was then being coached by some guy named Blair. Wonder whatever happened to him?

in 1936 Jesse Owens held world record in 200 m at 10.2 sec. (Women record today 10.49).

in 1951 Andy Stanfield held world record in 200m at 20.6 sec. (Women record today 21.34)

While the distributions is speed for men and women overlap, men are on average faster. Men are also stronger and quicker, on average.

The physical performance (speed strength, quickness) of highly trained right tail men is superior to the physical performance of highly trained right tail females.

That's one good reason for separate women's sports.

I have had many debates with friends on whether a top 10 nationally ranked high school boys basketball team could beat the WNBA champs. I say they could, but a lot of people say otherwise. What do y'all think?

Uhh..yeah they could. Take the 6A state champ in Texas and they would do it. The women wouldn't know what to do because the guys would be taller, faster, and can jump higher. It wouldn't even be close. I'd even say they would be better ball handlers. We've all heard about women's college teams practicing against rec ball boys, and it's true. My wife played basketball and they would do it.

I believe it was Clay Travis who said a few years ago that the boys 100m and 200m sprint times at whatever meet is the state championship for HS in Texas were faster than the women's olympic world records.

I would venture to guess 3A and above would all win. I bet there are upwards of 40 HS teams in the state that would win.

I was only asking out of curiosity about the differences in speeds between men and women's track since I used to run track in junior high. (We lived up north back then. They had more girls' sports up there.)

I have made the point on this thread a few times that even male boxers are paired by weight, recognizing the differences between them. Biological males do not belong in women's sports. And vice versa in my view.

When I was at USMC OCS one of the final events was a 3-on-3 pugil stick match between senior companies. Every candidate took a turn in the arena, 3 at a time from each company. Between the two companies there was only one female platoon so before the inter-company fights began, they split the women's platoon into two groups and had them square off against each other. The women went first. These were the most athletic and aggressive college women our country had to offer, and yet the difference from them to the male fights was huge. The speed, aggression, violence, and power were far greater between the men dueling against each other.

What is more pathetic is that NBA has to pay these girls to play in the WNBA. So the men supporting the women again as women cannot support themselves.

But are they grateful? NO.

I see women on Linkedin boast about the WNBA but none of them actually want to buy tickets and go watch games. The women just want to watch real muscular and athletic men play.

War.
Men in war have had their limbs chopped off, shot and destroyed. Bob Dole is one famous example. I want to know if women prefer childbirth to getting their body parts mashed into a pulp permanently.

Quote:

At age 21, on April 14, 1945, two days after the death of President Franklin Roosevelt and just a few weeks before the Nazi surrender, Dole's platoon came under attack by the Germans, and, trying to take out Nazi machine gunners, he was hit in the back. "As the mortar round, exploding shell, or machine gun blast whatever it was, I'll never know ripped into my body, I recoiled, lifted off the ground a bit, twisted in the air, and fell face down in the dirt," he writes.

"For a long moment I didn't know if I was dead or alive. I sensed the dirt in my mouth more than I tasted it. I wanted to get up, to lift my face off the ground, to spit the dirt and blood out of my mouth, but I couldn't move. I lay facedown in the dirt, unable to feel my arms. Then the horror hit me I can't feel anything below my neck! I didn't know it at the time, but whatever it was that hit me had ripped apart my shoulder, breaking my collarbone and my right arm, smashing down into my vertebrae, and damaging my spinal cord."

Let's see any woman deal with this kind of pain.

Kicked in the nuts OMG. The pain is shallow and deep at the same time.
