I will never understand when it's a real shooting, the newscast video stops at moment of the actual shooting, yet on a daily basis, the programing at the networks has shootings and the viewer watches as the 'actor' falls dead.

I'd say the Dad showed tremendous restraint if he had a child in the car seat in the back. He had is pistol out early on, and had multiple opportunities to shoot the guy before he actually did - as the guy was getting ready to pull away with his child still in the car.
Based on the video, until otherwise stated, I'm going with a.) the deceased perp is likely illegal, and b.) that he was under the influence of something illegal.

Yeah, good shoot, but man that dad needs some training. You don't pull your gun and waive it around in a close quarters situation like that. If you pull your gun in that situation, you use it. Immediately. Last thing you want is to get in a grapple and end up getting shot with your own gun.
man, what the hell was going on there, family was in the car and this dude just tries to take the car.. FAFO is what he got. I have seen some stupid videos over the years, this dude got what he had coming.

I guess, but also put his family at elevated risk. Real world fight or flight/adrenaline dump scenarios are hard to train for though, I get it.
