The DOJ is starting to crack down on racist admissions practices. This is a good thing.

Quote:

-UCLA's medical school unlawfully used race in admissions decisions over the last three years, specifically discriminating against white and Asian American applicants, according to Department of Justice findings.
-The practice violates a 2023 Supreme Court decision banning race-conscious admissions at colleges, the Justice Department said.

If you took race entirely out of the process, most of the UC schools would become 95% Asian and 5% white. Everybody else would be at Cal State campuses, UC Riverside (the Mexican UC) or private colleges like USC and Pepperdine.

Maybe more like 90/10, but I agree.

I don't think the average American realizes just how much Asian parents push their children to excel at school and to pursue only a few select fields. Half of my wife's Korean extended family almost feels sorry for you if you are not a doctor or phd science professor with patents. All of her cousins are doctors, not exaggerating. Schools like Clements HS in Sugar Land are filled with hyper-competitive Asian students solely focused on academics and zero sports or extracurriculars. You have to be borderline superhuman to place into a state university coming from these schools. You had to have no real life outside of academics.

Makes sense, as many of their parents completely abandoned everything they ever knew in search of better opportunity in a completely foreign land, so they are making damned sure it was for a good reason and doesn't go to waste.

Eventually their offspring will regress closer to the mean within a couple of generations. I think a lot of them get it twisted and think it is some type of "racial superiority" thing that will last forever. Nope...this country sucks everyone back down closer to the mean over time.

I've long made the point that when Leftist tries to gas light you with "DEI isn't about racial quotas! It's about giving opportunities to equally deserving black and Hispanic students who get overlooked by a racist system!" simply ask in turn: then please explain the radical difference in admission scores at major medical schools.

OK, let's go through this as an exercise and, just for laughs, take their "argument" at face value. At some point in the "racist" system (that doesn't exist, by the way), slavery and Jim Crow are ALWAYS brought up. Fine. Even though we're talking 50 years after the fact, I'm halfway willing to just say whatever to that.

Where the hell did the hispanics board this train? In 1950, there were roughly 2 million hispanics (and that is an extremely liberal count) living in the US. There were 15-18 million Blacks and somewhere in the neighborhood of 250-400K Asians (etc.). Were the hispanics ever enslaved? No. Were they put into internment camps like some Japanese Americans? No. Under Jim Crow laws? No.

What they WERE was a strong voting block of the democrat party. THAT is why you hear "Black and Hispanic..." and that is why the rhetoric about racism against them is bull***** I'm not saying no hispanic has ever been discriminated against, but it wasn't institutional and it certainly wasn't part of the US for any length of time. They haven't been in this country that long.

This isn't simply gaslighting. It is a complete fabrication and anytime you hear that, you need to shut it down. At a minimum, as the question: "what specific racism are you speaking of and what examples do you have?" If migrant farm workers are all they have (and likely that's the case), you're not only talking a few thousand people TOTAL, it begs the question: is that what you think of when you think of hispanics?

Take it a step further. Asians were out to work building the railroad. If the staked a good claim it wasn't finished. They were relalegated to the laundry.

That's not true.

If you add decent extracurricular, you lose like 80% of Asian applications.

If you really wanted to go for the jugular, just add a driving test.

UCLAs Medical School was once one the the most respected medical schools in the country.

That all changed when they lowered their standards after Biden took office, went full DEI and now they are a laughing stock.

Just not true. Guarantee you majority of the Asian applicants to tge UC schools have sports or music as extra curricular activities in addition. The joke in the Bay Area is golf, swimming ir tennis for sports and piano, violin or cello for music for Asian kids

Yep, maybe lawyers after engineers in some families but that's the list. My wife majored in neurobiology and got her pharm-D from t.u. top of her class, and became PIC at her pharmacy...and she sometimes felt like a deadbeat peasant at large family gatherings.

This interview from February 2025 with Dr. Richard Bosshardt is really shocking. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and had practiced for 38 years before retiring. Bosshardt go blacklisted from the ACS' internal discussion forums after starting a thread that questioned the ACS making racial diversity its top priority. He simply questioned whether technical competence as a surgeon should really be the top priority for the ACS.

Bosshardt then details decades of dumbing down standards for med school admissions, residency, and board certification. He describes how widely surgical incompetence is masked by surgeons who don't report the rates of complications, infections, and follow-up surgeries to correct errors. The time taken to perform routine surgical tasks is steadily increasing as the skill or surgeons decreases. The ACS is even allowing surgeons to get credit towards board certification by watching other surgeons actually perform surgical procedures on camera rather than performing surgeries with their own hands and instruments.

Dr. Bosshardt says that knowing how training and certification standards have slipped as a direct result of DEI initiatives provides reasonable justification to be concerned about having a surgeon under the age of 40 operate on you or a family member.

Dr. Richard Bosshardt Reveals Deadly Truth: Most Surgeons Aren't Fit to Practice. Here's Why.

These hospitals that intern UCLA "graduates" will first look at the grades, then the Medical Boards that they must pass.

These intern positions are highly competitive and I am sure that "Melanin and Medicine" is not a "criteria".
