Not knowing a lot about British government, why would Starmer face ouster because his party lost local elections? What is the connector between local councils and parliament?

Because he's the leader of the party (Labour) who's getting trounced and serves as PM because his party put him in that position. If his party loses elections they likely no longer would support him for PM and therefore his position is in jeopardy

Surveying the scale of Labour's disastrous elections performance, there are now at least a dozen Labour MPs saying publicly that Sir Keir Starmer should resign or attach a sell by date to his premiership.

Let's see if that is a position that becomes contagious.

There are no shortage of Labour MPs who say it is the prime minister himself who was toxic to many voters.

When Nigel wins, will he deport the migrants? Or is he full of s***?

He's hedging that the erch must be removed first, something that is essentially the equivalent of brexit level politicking. If that doesn't happen- he won't remove anyone, or very few relative to his promises.

Then he's a coward. It's not an impossibility at all.

We've had 2M illegals exit in a year and a half. They can get rid of 10k easily.

Good on Starmer being gone. The guy is a moron. Now get rid of that horrible, racist Muslim mayor of London.
I don’t get enough credit for the things I manage not to say.

Yeah, its a cop out to basically say our hands our tied if the erch remains.

You could simply cut the bennies and manynwould be forced home, but that'd be a violation of the erch. Essentially, they either need to ignore the erch on sovereignty grounds or move quickly to legally neuter it so much that it irrelevant to their plans

Maybe because the party doesn't exist? It is literally referring to independent Muslim candidates. The closest it has come to a "party" is a loose alliance that votes together on things important to Muslims. Both great but definitely not a party.

Muslims should not get a say in any western nation. They have nations of their own in the Middle East, Africa, South Asia, even Oceania. Why can't they go to any of those?

there are FIFTY FIVE (55) Muslim nations

but still they do everything they can to flee those and move to Christian nations.

why is that?

Because just like Democrats fleeing blue states for red, they are incapable of believing or accepting that it is their ideology that was causing the very problems they are fleeing and they just know that if they can bring their ideology to the prosperous places they flee to it will solve all problems and they'll be able to have their cake and eat it too

I think it was Mouth who made this insightful post the other day, but current day marxists think they they can swoop in and use the successful base that capitalism already built and simply overlay Marxism on top of that.

By doing this, they think they can hit the ground running with Marxism without degrading the capitalist base which makes everything work in the first place. The obvious problem with this is their complete lack of knowledge and perspective on economics, math, and human behavior.

It is the "all other things stay the same" fallacy. "If we tax every billionaire in the state 10% of their assets we will make $XX million dollars to waste on free stuff for freeloaders" assumes no billionaires leave the state to avoid paying the tax. Their brand of marxism relies on doing all these things that destroy the incentive for indivual innovation and productivity, but they assume productivity and innovation will continue on just as it did when capitalism incentivized it. It is a child-like level of understanding that underlies everything they do.

Every single western country makes FAR too much of deportation. It's really easy to get rid of the majority all in one swoop. Simply pass a law making only citizens eligible for welfare programs. Most will self deport as soon as the freebees go away. Then you just have to spend time/money rounding up the criminals.

The BBC's projected national share (PNS), which is calculated from results in more than 1,000 wards and estimates a general election where people voted along similar lines, makes Reform the largest party, on 26% of the vote share.

The PNS puts the Greens in second on 18%, followed by Labour and the Conservatives neck-and-neck in third place on 17% - appearing to confirm the end of the traditional dominance of the big two parties in the UK.

Labour has lost more than 1,100 English council seats, including in its heartlands across northern England and the Midlands, and faces further difficult results as counting continues throughout Friday.

The results are bleak for Labour in Wales, where Plaid Cymru is now the biggest party in the devolved parliament, with Reform as the main opposition.

Meanwhile in Scotland, the SNP is expected be the largest party in Scotland but fall short of an overall majority.

Labour's poor showing has fuelled further questions about Sir Keir's leadership,
