It their own fault. The Dems felt compelled to literally virtue signal within the language of the referendum itself, tainting it. They couldn't help themselves. The self righteous sanctimony amongst them is overpowering.

To be fair, they probably shouldn't have even been allowed to start it given it wasn't initiated properly and it barely passed with the biased language in it.

If they were smart (I know, oxymoron) they would've kept quite and waited until last month to do all that they did. The way things moved (one state to the other, etc.) that wouldn't have left the other states with time to do what they did because it would be too close to the elections.

But, as always, the left bring a knife to a gun fight. They've no one to blame but themselves.

I do not know where Dems get their money but they are saying Dems will pour around 300 million in the Texas senate race

that makes me a little nervous but I do not think there is anyway the gay pastor can win

It's not about the gay false prophet.
It's about turnout down-ballot. That charming ****** will help Soros Judges, DA's, etc.
Thankfully a lot of voters are too stupid and lazy to scroll through 3 pages of positions now that straight ticket is a thing of the past.

Yeah, a great victory so that Republicans can continue to pass all the needed reforms in Congress.

Don't get me wrong but the Republicans have no idea how to handle power in Congress and while this is a victory avoiding a Democrat agenda, it is a hollow victory in what Republicans actually do with it.

At this point, not sliding further towards the woke Marxist zone is good enough for me.

Question. Glad this thing failed. Is their a more fair
Way to decide districts. Each state should be more in line with the registered voters. Ie, the New England states are 45/55 and there are NO R representatives.

Don't gerrymander?

Understood however there are states with no at representation.

Unless the districts are based on race, there is nothing that can be done. If there were, it would have already been done.

The Dems have gerrymandered the Rs out in many states for years.

Message to conservatives in those states: move!

The libs blame Texas for this. But Cali answered Texas and made it a moot issue by taking 5 seats. Then VA decided to take it further.

I would not stop in every red state until there is ZERO D districts. They deserve it.

Liberals are pure evil.

Virginia Districts and Virginia Judges are Virginia's problem. I'll take todays ruling with a smile.

Some Red State GOP's have finally decided in some states (FL, TX, and TN) to put their foot on the Democrats throats.... and seem to understand that the Democrats would do the EXACT same thing to us (as VA attempt, and successful left gerrymanders in IL, NY, CA, and the Northeast prove). The Dems gamed a system where the Southern states had to START with guaranteed Dem districts using racial discrimination as their excuse, meanwhile Democrat blue states had no such requirement. This was inherently not fair if we are to let the state legislatures decide the shapes of districts.

I am in Alabama, and while I am glad we are taking one of the 2 forced black gerrymandered districts back and adding 1 more GOP seat, we had an opportunity to take them both and make very minor gerrymandered maps where all 7 districts were +25 GOP. This is a missed opportunity..... and it's Kay Ivey's fault as she would not have signed a 7-0 plan.

The GOP must learn to be ruthless on the application of power. Show no mercy to the party that shows no mercy to innocent babies. Crush them and seize power by any means necessary within the framework of the law.

Here is the meat:

Quote:

In this case, the Commonwealth submitted a proposed constitutional amendment to Virginia voters in an unprecedented manner that violated the intervening-election requirement in Article XII, Section 1 of the Constitution of Virginia. This violation irreparably undermines the integrity of the resulting referendum vote and renders it null and void.

The Commonwealth tried to force in an amendment that was contrary to the proper procedure to amend to Virginia constitution. The ruling had nothing to do with whether or not the gerrymand was legal or fair. The court said that the process was specifically against the letter and intent of the law around the process of amending the constitution, which was specifically designed so that amendments couldn't be forced through, as it was in the instant case.

This means that there is basically zero chance that SCOTUS takes this up. Virginia redistricting is DOA.

Even if the losers here try a federal court case, I really don't believe the Court would even grant cert sometime way down the road.

If they try to appeal to SCOTUS directly from this state supreme court decision, SCOTUS won't grant cert, is my sense. There is no federal question.

Sure. Just a quick sample. Democrats are anything but democratic. It is truly frightening that these people vote.

Cool cool. I guess we'll just continue to watch GOP cheat and "win" and take all of us down with them.

Quote:

The PROCESS was the problem. This can be redone.

Quote:

We all got together and VOTED TO PASS THIS. Meanwhile GOP states like Tennessee, Florida, and Texas get to just run roughshod without regard to any sacred "process." Absolute horse****.

Quote:

It was unwise, in fact very foolish, to ban gerrymandering in just one state. Should have done it like the popular vote compact

Call your legislator. Tell them to ignore the court order.

Blue states better ignore state SC and redistrict now.
Or the only hope America has to keep it's democracy is on the off chance red states dummymandered.
If the red-states didn't dummymander, then America's democracy is gone and we're ruled by one-party rule. Democrats will never have power again after 2026.

So much delusion. Good god. If anything, it's the other way around. Democrats have run over Republicans for years. This country has only ever moved to the left for past several decades.

Republican Senators still aren't doing jack **** on their end. Pretty much blocking policy.

My WAG is SCOTUS denies cert. A state supreme court is in a better position to interpret its own constitution than SCOTUS is. Without any federal question raised by such a state supreme court decision, not within SCOTUS purview.
