They want to wipe all 7 justices - including the 4 democrats - and only put in loyalists who will vote for the rejected map.

This is the extremes democrats will go for power.

Stacking courts with Democrat partisans has always been their plan of perpetual power. The day they do it to SCOTUS and we have 6+ KBJs America is officially over

Someone needs to propose a Constitutional Amendment permanently limiting Supreme Court membership to 9.

They are not crazy, evil yes. Satan is quite happy with them.

This idea was propagated in an opinion piece written by one person, out of state. It's not something under consideration.

They really do keep finding ways to alienate more and more Democrats from the party AND making sure independents never take them seriously every again. .

Except it was the leader of the Democrats in the house, Hakeem Jeffries, and his cohort that were considering it.

The NY Times reported on it.

Spot on. I hope no one on the other side ever proposes something this nuts when the democrats have the majority.

I guess that one person's opinion was Hakeem Jeffries. ; )

With any luck and a bit of common sense voting reform the Dems will never again have the majority.

They've ruined enough, Trump can only fix so much.

I was thinking that was the case. Hakeem from New York's 8th district has some opinions on how state legislatures, judiciaries and constitutional should work.

He's dumber than a ******* fence post and just as ugly, but he has these things all figured out.

Like a typical dem, they intend to uphold the constitution by destroying it or tossing it aside.

No it was something proposed in an opinion article yesterday by some wackadoodle lawyer out of some other state and it got picked up and repeated by a bunch of other stupid people, Jeffries among them. It's not a serious proposal.

Author of the proposal is a they/them/theirs currently teaching at Michigan State University.

Hopefully that lawyer gets sued out of the wazoo, criminally indicted and disbarred.

Because that is how Republican lawyers were treated for postulating that the ECA was crap and unconstitutional and the Jan 6th certification of the electoral vote could be disputed.

That doesn't say **** about whether it's under consideration or not.

The NYT explicitly says this:

"One key to the plan would be having Democrats in Richmond lower the mandatory retirement age for state Supreme Court justices, an idea that began circulating among state lawmakers and members of Congress"

I guess you forgot - or didn't know - that they violated their own constitution to put the measure on the ballot in the first place. Acting like this is beyond the pale is ******ed.

Nothing ever surprises me as to how far DemocRats will go to not only obtain power but to maintain it as well.

Just look at what they have done to California where the last election Trump received 40% of the vote but the DemocRats gerrymandered it recently to include an additional 5 more Democratic seats in Congress.

Under consideration means it is discussed and passed around. Some Dems are naturally aghast and don't support it. BUT it is "part of the conversation."

Has Gov Spanberger or the prominent members of the VA state assembly come out against this?

If they don't get their way, would not be a surprise to see someone take a shot at one or more of the VA Supreme Court justices who struck down the map.

The left has already proven they will kill to advance their goals.

I know it gets said by many, but the day the SC is stacked like you say is the day I take up arms against the US government. If it happens, I hope I'm old enough to have raised my children and spoiled my grandchildren
