We know virtually nothing. I'm seeing claims that he was the one attacked. Im also seeing compassionate claims that the shooting victim was a PTSD veteran. However, it appears that veteran also might have held his wife with a screwdriver and attempted to burn their house down with an aerosol can. I do not know anything about this guy. We really do not have a ton of info on this altercation yet, either. That said, I do not agree with your mace vs. firearm point. I think you could argue it supports the exact opposite. He did not "normally" cary a firearm but felt compelled to do so because he was increasingly concerned for his safety based on the controversial nature of his "work".

Very few people carry firearms because they are looking for a fight. I'd imagine those that do are not actively posting content to drive engaement on social media. I don't think your argument holds up.

And... it is not illegal to be dumb, mean, and/or armed. He may have broken a law(s), time will tell. But choosing to arm yourself with a firearm over a less lethal option is not going to be an issue for him without something else pointing to intent. Something more than forbidden words, too. None of those things, even in combination, remove the possibility he was acting in self-defense.

The theme of his videos were mostly just that black people and much of society think it's ok to resort to violence over words they don't like. He felt it was his right to free speech, but he clearly only messed with black dudes.

But the real motivation was that he had some type of personal axe to grind with black people and seemed to deeply despise them. He said they "ruined his business and were taking his son away" whatever that means.

This almost felt like both 1) an attempt to gain a following and social media income, and 2) a borderline suicide mission. He clearly felt helpless and like his world was falling in on him….but that seemed to pretty much all be his doing.

This is getting out of hand. Here in Little Rock, a very nice steakhouse was the scene of a disruption and altercation caused by social media "influencers" (I HATE that term). Two were arrested on minor charges which probably just plays into their wishes for a wider audience.

I will say that his original viral clip in response to the black lady freaking out as she walked by in Wal Mart was pretty funny. I followed him after that…but soon unfollowed him as more vids came out of him just antagonizing black people everywhere he could.

When I first saw his photo, I thought it was D-Day from Animal House.

I just searched to see if there was a video of the incident and there's not but there are hundreds of YouTube videos out there. Black people are ecstatic about this.

Just because you call people bad words and stir them up doesn't mean you're guilty of anything if you shoot somebody who first attacks you.

He's an idiot playing in a volatile environment to make a buck.

That does NOT make him guilty of a crime just because people hate the N word.

Doesn't make him good or that he should've been creating the situation either.

I'll wait till more information comes out and this isn't all harshly judged by outsiders simply because there were racial words used

Edit to add: We don't even really know an assumption I've made either... unless theres recordings I havent heard. I'm just going off of what he does. He shows dislike for people that don't look like him and calls them bad things so an educated guess is he did the same in this incident

It depends

There are scenarios where you can find yourself in a violent scenario of your own making and you are not legally protected from harm you cause in retaliation.

This guy has some very incriminating videos of himself and posts that are going to give prosecutors a real case for the argument that he was trying to create such a scenario in order that he could shoot someone.
