The San Diego police's statement of "we're going to treat this as a hate crime until proven otherwise" is in stark contrast to attacks on other groups because it has taken multiples, days, weeks, or months to determine the motive in similar attacks against other groups. The new standard is that hate crimes only apply to attacks on Muslims and the LGBTQ+ community, but attacks on other groups are ordinary crimes.

It shouldn't. But I have taken note of the repeated reactions of Democrats when it involves a Christian church or a Jewish synagogue versus anything to do with Muslims.

No one deserves this. Full stop. I also don't think Islam is compatible with western society. Did they deserve this? Of course they didn't but when I see what that religion is doing around the world and some are trying to do here it's only a matter of time before this becomes a more regular occurrence. I absolutely believe that many Muslims are very peaceful. Unfortunately, it's the radicalized part of their religion that is overtaking them.

These things are not mutually exclusive. Many are true.

However, I do think these kids were really stupid. I think it is highly likely that they didn't even know who they were targeting. Sounds like they just hated everyone. Especially themselves.
