I know the "Warning" was in jest, but I'll say it again and again. There was a time when I was growing up that if you put your hands on a cop, refused to obey a cop's orders or just taunted cops that you got your ass beat and NOBODY on either side of the aisle, nor your parents, felt sorry for you. The change to victim mentality is at the root of a ton of our problems today.
This. I love how people think modern police are somehow some problem. Like we have a "police brutality" epidemic. If anything they are too soft...too pudgy...too slow. Too easy on criminals. I look around in Houston and it's a bunch of unqualified, out-of-shape, pushovers for the most part.
Pick your era, 1800's...1950's....1980's...if you went up and just started talking sh** to a cop or resisting arrest, it was almost a given that you were about to be tuned up. Everyone knew not to F around with the police.
Liberals and Big L Libertarians love to act like cops were out saving kitties and giving high fives in the past, like they were in Mayberry. No, they were kicking in doors, kicking asses and unloading on perps as necessary, with zero fear of repercussions because there were no cameras and they all had eachother's backs. And then there were the crooked cops...
