It came and went like a hooker on to her next client don't even stay for desert.

I guess the media failed to frighten people and or the American people didn't fall for the fake outrage.

They are seriously running out of effective things to scare people with on a global scale. The one thing they SHOULD be scaring everyone with is the spread of radical Islam and/or Marxist leftism but you know that ain't gonna fly with the globalists.

It never was going to kill us all.
And despite what idiots pumpkin or I'll informed meme in the Internet want to think should be the next big scare, Whole is very easy to contain.

It spreads in crap holes like the Congo because the local population refuse to take the basic steps necessary to prevent transmission.

They moved on to Ebola.

The media is practically saying (hoping) it will arrive in the US sooner or later.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Statistics, while used to conflate many things, are also helpful when you see what the transmission rates are for people.

Just stay away from rodent droppings and your almost non existent odds of catching it go to pretty much zero. Sucks if you get is as it has a high mortality rate, it is what killed Gene Hackman's wife.

Are you kidding?

It isn't running in large epidemics, but a lot of people have had it including some in my area. Someone from one local hospital told me that when they get a patient in who they think might have hantavirus, they start treating them for it immediately because of the potential that the patient might die if they wait for the results.

Hantavirus is nothing to sneer at.

That ebola scare a few years ago was crazy. Reading the drivel posted about it on TexAgs was sickening.

When you have something that fast and that deadly, there is much greater effort to keep it under control and it won't spread for long. They aren't going to wait around for it to become an epidemic.

I think that the first big modern outbreak spread so fast because they were using the same syringes and needles to give everyone shots for this and that.

Hantavirus is nothing to sneer at.

In the past 33 years, there have been less than 1000 cases in the US and approximately 35% of them have been fatal.

We have had far fewer rabies cases than hantavirus cases in the US in the last 33 years and far fewer people dying of rabies in the US than from hantavirus during that time period. Does this mean that rabies is kind of like the flu?

Are there any diseases that you wouldn't mind getting?

For medical emergencies, but not disease related, how about rattlesnake bites? We have a lot of rattlesnake bites in the US, but few die from the bites. I have heard that we average about 5 deaths a year from rattlesnake bites. That would put the number of deaths from rattlesnake bites to be fewer than the number of deaths from rattlesnake bites.

Oh, people learned it was transmitted via gay sex, so that was the end of that. You cant tell gay people to not be promiscuous, soooo....

Hantavirus was always well known for being difficult to transmit unless you are licking infected peoples wounds/buttholes, so....to the memory hole with it all, I guess.
