I haven't disappeared from this thread. My computer is down so I'm at the library.

I forgot to mention that anyone who believes in transgenderism (that would be Talarico and all democrats) is saying, in essence, that God made a mistake. But God doesn't make mistakes, and the belief in transgender philosophy is blasphemy.
Elections are when people find out what politicians stand for, and politicians find out what people will fall for.

I grew up in a Christian home and kinda thought I knew the Bible but also knew I was weak. In recent years, I've done a better job of worship, prayer, and study of the Word. As I have grown and matured, the Spirit has revealed more and more and I've come to understand no one really "knows" the Bible. They know only what is revealed to them. Further, there's so much there that is complex and multilayered that mere mortals will never understand a fraction. So, in that sense you're right- neither MAGA folks, nor anyone else, knows the Bible.

But you can learn enough to know when someone is full of baloney or is using the Bible for gain. Discernment isn't that hard with only a basic understanding.

Furthermore, Mr. Talirico, and all leaders and politicians, would be wise to heed James 3:1: "…because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly." They, and we, all should be very careful that they represent the Word very accurately, not warped for political gain.

He's 1000% wrong with this take. I think even most atheists would say he's wrong here if they read the text he was referencing.

He's either incredibly ignorant about scripture and core Christ-centered faith and just using Christianity to validate his worldview or being intentionally deceptive.

This sort of thing isn't particularly new. Politicians have used people's religious faith to promote themselves and their political goals (Trump with his "two Corinthians"), but this one seems a bit different

The scripture he bases it on basically says there is no division in Christ. There is no Jew or Greek, or man or woman, or slave or free, etc. There are many things that divide us on earth, but in Christ, we are unified in him. It's a complete twisting of the meaning.

Talerico then tells us to take it up with Paul since he penned the scripture. Ok Talerico, what about the scripture by Paul that says that wives must submit themselves to their husbands??

I don't know man. I think you are giving Talarico a little too much credit. He's embarassingly bad at using the bible to his benefit. I do think that some of the people Jesus was the harshest on during his life were the "religious leaders" of the time, so anyone that is mis-quoting the bible as bad as Talarico is, is probably in for a bad time.
