It's like when they have a cold night in Florida and iguanas start falling from trees.

That's crazy. In 2017 I had my second brain surgery and a nurse gave me a pain medicine in the ICU called Dilaudid. It was the most incredible feeling I had ever had. I immediately understood why people threw their lives away for drugs if they didn't have a strong family/friend group to keep them grounded. I asked the nurse what she had given me and then told her to never give it to me again. The feeling was one of complete peace and no worries. It was amazing.

I'm saying this because it's scary how much more potent this new stuff is than dilaudid. Can't believe there aren't dead bodies everywhere.

Dilaudid is the trade name for hydromorphone.

Dang, I had the exact opposite response. I got extremely nauseous and felt as I was going to either pass out or puke, if not both. Almost an impending sense of doom. I guess maybe I'm lucky I don't enjoy narcotics.

Holy crap it's on that chart, and more potent than heroin? I told my wife after I talked to the nurse that I had never had heroin before but I think I knew what it felt like. Crazy.

Opioids are still the mainstay of post-operative pain control and individuals can have varied reactions depending on the meds used. I do not tolerate hydrocodone since it gives me hallucinations. Had a PA questioning my request for something besides the hydrocodone and wouldn't relent until I told her (truthfully) that something that looked like a tumbleweed ran across the ceiling while we were talking.

Carfentanil is used as a large animal tranquilizer and may be the Philly "tranq" mentioned by a previous poster IDK.

"Tranq" is xylazine, also used in large animal and small animal sedation. Alpha agonist drug.

Years ago I had severe sciatic nerve pain(could literally NOT sit down, only lay flat or get on my knees on pillows to work at a desk). Was prescribed hydrocodone and it was a wild euphoric sensation, all was great with not a care in the world, nor back pain.

Scared the crap out of me cause I too could see that I might want more. Flushed that crap down the toilet after a couple of tries.
I don't think you know me.

I won't lie--any of the medications (hydrocodone, oxycodone, etc.) make me feel like I'm on top of the world. The good news is they also cause terrible constipation, so that is a natural deterrent for me. They are wonderful blessings to those in irretractable pain, but can be a curse for those who fall under their spell.

Very good friend got hooked on one of them (oxy?) after a dental procedure. Like 20-25/day at I think $5/per. Was pawning stuff etc. We are able to talk about it now generally truthfully, and he says the same thing: Could go through the day without a care in the world. All problems disappeared. And he (at least initially) wasn't looking to get high - started innocently after a medical procedure. (Obviously there can be life occurrences that make one more susceptible etc. but generally he wasn't someone looking to get high)

As an aside: 6-7 close friends eventually intervened and refused to let him keep lying. Actually drove him to treatment and made him accountable. It's an uncomfortable situation to do that, but he appreciates us all now for doing that. if anyone knows somebody in a similar position, it'll work out if you force them to get help.

All of their fixing the homeless problem nonsense is just more taxpayer money laundering.

Go to any big city in a red state and you won't see this. Sure you'll see a few tent encampments up but this is literally zombie land.

When I was growing up I was told that cocaine would cause your heart to explode. Then it was all about heroine and how it was an instant overdose. Next was fentanyl and how it was 20x more potent than heroine. Now it's this new drug that's 20x more potent than fentanyl. Do you instantly die if you look at this stuff or have people's tolerances gotten higher?

Also, looking back at my childhood I figured that I would have encountered quicksand by now and that at some point I would have needed to stop, drop, and roll. What do I know.

I've got news for you buddy, I've seen quite a number of people on coke & I think even a handful on heroin at a concert. They were all still somewhat alert & somewhat coherent. Especially so for those on coke….they usually have high energy & are ready to stay up.

If you watch that video those people are beyond help. They're literally sleeping standing up & bent over. And when they wake up they'll go beg for more $, buy a little something to eat so they don't starve to death, & then go buy these same drugs to get their next fix. They'll literally live like this until they die in the street or until a family member finally feels guilty enough to go find them and get them into treatment.

Your post is quite odd, but I figured I'd at least educate you.

I have seen this first hand, as well, and it is very sad.

The worst thing you can possibly do is allow the government to continue to enable it and sell it as "outreach" or compassion. These people need help in the worst of ways, not continued enablement

And the crazy thing is that states like Cali swindle approximately $150k per year per homeless person per year from taxpayers that goes straight into politicians & their donors pockets. It's utterly shameful

Spencer Pratt isnt wrong, and he is approximately correct. There is a complex of NGOs and people that profit off of "solving" these problems, but after the grift of politicians, it never actually makes it down to the people that it is "supposed to" help. So, what happens? they ask for even more money, to steal from, and no one is helped in the first place.

It's an absolute disgrace to governance. But guess what! Wait 87 days and this is actually what the people want! She will win re-election! So we continue to give the money to some ****** communist agitator who watched her city burn while she was out of town in Africa, and run it back, hoping for something to change.

What a farce.

Havana on the Pacific. In the United States. Diabolical evil.

My post was meant to be lighthearted. I seem to have hit a nerve. I don't need an education. I don't really care about any of this because neither I nor anyone I know does drugs.

The prevalence of ISO in San Francisco is another example of how San Francisco and California have devolved because of progressive criminal justice policies, including eliminating or reducing cash bail.

For decades the Left created this with "being homeless is not a crime" and "homeless people just need publicly funded new teeth" nonsense.

They own 100% of the misery these poor people are suffering.

While I agree Dems are despicable and responsible for much of the ills of this Nation...shouldn't the idiot individuals that seek out these drugs and use them bear some of the responsibility?
