I went to their website and tried the "bottomsup" discount code just to see if it would work.

It does; so there goes any attempted walk back by claiming it was hack, or the result of some now fired marketing intern.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

That is a wildly absurd ad campaign. If I'm gay, I would be pretty offended by that because it just perpetuates that the only thing gays care about is having anal sex.

So, instead of pushing an adult, mature theme during Pride month this food company goes all-in on the anal sex angle. It's extremely gross.

Well they could cross advertise with one of the dozens of prep products that plaster tv commercial space. Maybe a guy at the bus stop drinking a green smoothie while flirting with the shirtless Puerto Rican guy he just ran into. Then can point to it and say "mmm fiber" and wink at his new "friend."

What idiot thought it was a good idea to bring up anal sex and crapping in a grocery store/food ad? And what bigger executive idiot okay'd this? You don't have to be a brilliant marketing executive to understand that it's a terrible idea to create a mental link between food services and literal crap. This is like Taco Bell advertising that their bean burrito will clear you out before your colonoscopy. It's gross and disgusting even before you get into the political alienation impacts.

What a bunch of ****ing halfwits. I don't think a single Instagram post is enough to Bud Light them (this is much smaller in scope than a full advertising campaign centered around trans whatever), but damn. It's like they are trying to lose customers to... What exactly? Get a laugh out of a bunch of 20 year old frat boys with grodey senses of humor?

I used Blue Apron for four months and it was the same service.

So it was just as good for… prepping?

We used hello fresh quite a bit. We really enjoyed it but no more. I'm not one to just cancel a company but this was disgusting.

Honestly, if they just did the standard we support the lgbtq community post, I wouldn't have really given it much thought.

I do too and many of their meals are outstanding. Not sure what to do as it's easy to make them and a good quality meals comes out to like $14/person.

Do y'all happen to have a Sprouts near you? We have one by us after moving and their prepared meals are the best we've ever had and we've tried the mail order companies like Hello Fresh and Blue Apron and all of the brick-and-mortar prepared meal companies. I think most of those brands have closed at this point.

Sprouts is so far better than anything else we've tried it's kind of mind-blowing. Maybe it's just our location but I would give them a try if you have one near you. We still do most of our grocery shopping at other places, but their prepared meals are far and away superior to anything else we've ever tried. I'm talking so good that they are as quality as a good restaurant.

Anyone following the Hello Fresh Pride Month marketing on X that is causing a furor today?

The original post on X was to tease recipes for high fiber meals to colon blast those that want to prep for Pride Month. Now they are offering a discount if you use the code BottomsUp at checkout.

When I think of a business providing fresh meals and food I don't want to associate their product with "prepping" for the activities they are teasing there. I think this isn't going to end well for them.

Hello Fresh literally said, "We're gonna market ourselves as Colon Blow this month."

I never signed up... But I looked into it years ago. Reasons were two fold.
1) Recipe ideas, but I think they publish those so not really a selling point
2) Portions for the bachelor. Hard to go to HEB and buy for one. Today I still over cook and that's my lunch the next few days.

I've never understood this. I cooked too much = I have plenty of leftovers so I don't have to cook tomorrow.

It's not complicated.

There are books dedicated to simple things like crackpot cooking or even one pot meals. Honestly no excuse to use these services.

The current Executive Chef of the White House has worked there since W and then under Obama, Trump, Biden, and now Trump again.

And some left wing tard intern on a social media account is making fun of him about not being able to work an oven. Brilliant marketing going after a career chef who has worked under multiple Presidents in an apolitical role.

Not Hello Fresh. Most the meals I make involve making sauces, baking meats and vegetables, pan searing, etc. I've never made a crock pot meal with them, and would put most the meals up against good restaurants in town. So, better food, home cooked and cheaper to make vs eat out.

I still have a hard time wrapping my head around why any business would pander to and promote some small percentage of the population whether it be the freakazoid stuff Bud Light did or the disgusting mess Hello Fresh is doing. Make what you make, sell what you sell, leave politics and the sexual preferences of the abnormal people out of it.
