Inside the imperial presidency of Donald Trump. If that is not a biased hit piece book, I will eat my hat.

It's not and someone should be punished to the absolute max.

This goes back to WaPo publishing The Pentagon Papers after Daniel Ellsberg's psychiatrist's office was burglarized The crime was the theft which WaPo had no direct involvement.

So, did these two reporters request or know in advance that the security was being breached? If so, they become accessories.

It's way past time to put people in prison for life. This is not legal opposition.

IANAL
If true the people who leaked the information are still liable and if found guilty should serve long prison sentences?
Look at the orators in our republics; as long as they are poor, both state and people can only praise their uprightness; but once they are fattened on the public funds, they conceive a hatred for justice, plan intrigues against the people and attack the democracy.

The Imperial Presidency. Lol.

You mean the guy that's arguably destroying if not at least degrading Bretton Woods?

Leftist clowns.

Yes. And it should not be that hard to find out who breached security. (Unless they are looking for Hunter's cocaine stash, of course.)

What got Assange in trouble was not releasing classified info, it was that he did some work to help Manning to break an encryption code to help him/her to gain access to it. Without that direct involvement, he would nothave been charged.

By saying the admin saying they think the reporters have tapes they are essentially saying that the book is true. This definitely makes it worth reading.

Subpoena them and demand that they give up the source of the classified information.

I know there may be 1st Amendment issues on this, but if you or I KNOWINGLY accepted classified information and/or released it to the public, we would go to jail for sure. It's essentially the same as knowingly accepting stolen merchandise.

Freedom of the press shouldn't be allowed to involve committing illegal acts.

My guess is the admin knows exactly who it was…and said leaker is probably leaking in his/her pants right about now.

Well, the authors will definitely make sure to warp whatever was said in them to ensure that Orange Man Bad, so matter what.

I guess if you want to read a book that distorts reality, feel free to.

There are clearly some leakers in this crew. Their article a couple months ago about the lead to Iran had very specific details. The most common theory was that it was Vance's crew.

This book is basically going to be the 2027 blueprint for the Democrats' articles of impeachment.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

"Imperial Presidency"? The last MF issued an unconstitutional decree to fire anyone who would not take an experimental vaccine that they didn't need…one which he was warning against just months prior, when politically convenient for him.

Accuse the opposition of that which you are actually guilty: Tale as old as time.

Believe it when I see it. Other than the Brennan and Bolton cases which are still very much in process, the Trump DOJ has pretty much shot duds on bringing any conspirators to justice.

First Trump must identify who his real opposition is. Trump keeps siccing his DOJ on Democrats. That has been a waste of time and resources.

From 2015 to today, it is the Establishment Rs who have BY FAR been Trump's most formidable and effective MAIN opposition. They have stymied, blocked, and undermined Trump for the entire 5.5 years he has been in power as POTUS.

There were no Democrats in the Situation Room meetings. Only senior level Rs.

This is not like Hunter leaving his cocaine in a Whitehouse locker. Daddy/Step Mommy can't protect the leaker(s).

It's likely a non issue. Promoting a book is not unheard of. I've never heard of these people and up until a few minutes ago, I didn't even know the book existed. Ive never even heard of the X account that posted retweeted it. This thread alone probably generated hundreds of clicks, has wasted who knows how much bandwidth...and for what? An issue that no one knows is actually an issue.

I say they are bull****ting everyone.

I don't care if it was Republicans or Democrats, and I don't care who the President is, whoever did this needs to be in jail along with the journalists…this really isn't this difficult.

Sort of. The leakers are in big trouble. The journalists are in the clear if they didn't solicit the leak. See NYT V. US.

That is fair…but, this is where I am not knowledgeable, but if they took that information without verifying what it was from, is there no culpability? I mean they have their source/s, but don't they have to clarify where this info is from? Like I said, I am not lawyer at all.

What if the reporters knew it was illegally obtained but didn't exactly solicit it? Genuinely curious.

At the very least any ethical company should fire someone for something like this imo.
