This is the same kind of garbage the Dems pulled with Feinstein. She had full blown dementia and couldn't remember what she said 5 minutes earlier and was still serving.

The Rs should be better than this but in this case, McConnell and his staff have TDS and will not give up until he croaks.

And then it will be Weekend at Biden's, I mean Bernie's.

Dive deep into that tweet that Nortex posted up above by John Konrad, and you'll understand why.

I think Konrad has a very valid point in that the staffers have complete control over McConnell, Schumer, Thune, and all the high ranking senators - especially the older ones who's only job is to do what they're told. And the staffers protect each other, regardless of party.

It's kind of terrifying that the ones who truly have control of Congress are the Wormtounge advisers and staffers who get to be anonymous. Biden wasn't the first empty suit that was controlled by the ones behind the scenes, and I'm becoming more convinced that the Biden example was just another play in a playbook that's been going on for quite awhile in Congress.

They aren't better than this, unfortunately.

How long could the Governor keep the seat empty. Maybe an empty suit is better than an empty chair

Could the Governor appoint Massey or is there some kind of advisory board?

Based on what I see, there is no time limit; only a time of 56 days after the proclamation until the election is held to fill the seat.

So backup 56 days from election day, that is Sep 8th. They'd have to have the proclamation prior to that or risk losing the Senate. And really sooner because they have to vote on it before the election. So let's say mid August.

"Senator McConnell is still working closely with staff on Senate business and Kentucky matters as he continues his recovery. However, he will not be voting this week," said the spokesperson, David Popp.

Hey David. Stop lying! It's embarrasing!

Mitch McConnell is not working on anything. Until proven otherwise, he's laying in a bed as a virtual vegetable as his unelected staff continues to try to operate and exert influence in what is left of his Senate office as they issue farcical press releases.

It really irritates me that these staffers are willing to lie and cheat to try to retain their own, unelected power.
