It's possible it isn't BS. There are crazies on the extreme right. You can find more than a few on F16.

What it shows is once again, the horseshoe theory on politics is absolutely correct. While their ideological motivations might be different, their goals and end game are the same. They hate this country because they do not believe in freedom. The left wants a communist, totalitarian state. The extremists on the right want a hyper-religious, totalitarian state that is purged of all but their approved race and religion.

As just as a note, I don't say extremists on the left because the extremists have become the mainstream of the political left and are no longer the fringe.

Now, so far I have not seen indication foreign actors were involved in this plot, so it would not have made a difference here. But if foreign actors were involved, we would have an issue given the current status.

Vance also said any surveillance of US folk needs a warrant. I agree and this needs to be "fixed" with any furtherance of FISA 702.

I understand FISA. But really feel it is too intrusive. And has been abused too many times to spy/go after political opponents.

But maybe I don't understand it enough. Seems like a good deal of people agree with it.

The abuse has been on "backdoor, warrantless" searches of American citizens communications that were accumulated whilst surveilling foreign targets.

Guardrails were in place, expanded but there are still problems with this from oversight to nefarious actors in the bureaucracy.

Most of the rhetoric seems to demand throw baby out with bathwater with no plans about baby or future bathing.
