I have such a difficult time with this scale - are there really 250k girls without parents or family who would intervene outside of the law?

I'm just having a difficult jut time understanding under what circumstances I'd let my daughter be in this situation or that if it didn't happen and the law ignored it, that I would just accept that.

Many tried, they got arrested and put in prison or worse, killed by the rapists who of course got away with it. The system, at all levels, actively protected the rapists.

There are stories of families trying to get something done and they get thrown in jail for talking about it online.

If the 250,000 number (over how many years?) were done on a per capita basis in Texas, that would be 142,000 assaults, NINE times the yearly number in Texas/
