I miss the days of 1999 when the national average was $0.939 and I routinely filled up of Rankin Rd for below $0.80 on my way to downtown to intern at the accounting firm.

When I was first driving (could get a license at 14 then) gas was $.239 or $.259 and often the gas station gave away stuff. I worked part time at a country gas station/general store with two pumps and one of those manual tire changing things out front. There was no such thing as self-service then and when people pulled up they almost never said "fill it up." They would say "give me $3 worth, or $5 worth, instead.

I promise you Trump will mandate that all gas be sold at $1.776 for the July 4th weekend.

But seriously, the overall good news is that oil and gas have gone down significantly. Would be nice for it to continue, but… the other benefit is that if skirmish resumes we are back to a much lower starting point.

This was 1988 which was in the middle of a 15 year run of Republican governors of California from 1983 to 1999. Gas was relatively affordable in the state for a long stretch. I wonder what changed?

The big oil companies don't own any gas stations any more so I'm not sure why Trump is pounding the table telling them to lower the street prices. The biggest gas retailers in America are Circle K and 7-Eleven but a huge portion of the industry is in the hands of small businesses that own one or two gas stations.

Prices will drop but it won't be overnight as retailers try to hang onto margin as long as they can to recover from the high cost where margins were squeezed. I spent almost 30 years marketing fuel at retail and am now in Wholesale fuel and have seen the wild ride the independent small businesses owners have ridden out over the last four months. Imagine your main product has a margin of .20 a gallon and you sell through a good portion of your inventory and order a new load and the cost increased .60 a gallon from one day to the next. Because the truck pulled up to the rack at 6:01 PM your cost came in at the higher price and you have to pay that invoice while also posting a street price that keeps you competitive so your volume doesn't evaporate.

Very true. People with those levels of hate I used to feel sorry for, but their hatred comes from within their soul. I write them off.

Now, I do feel sorry for their family, especially if they're married and got kids, and the family isn't like them. I can't imagine how horrible it must be to live with someone like that.

You separate yourself from people like that for the sake of your family, friends and especially children.

I only tolerate one known Kamala voter in real life. Shes married to a very good friend and business partner.

She grew up in DC and went to W&M so the indoctrination just runs too deep I think. We don't talk politics when together, which is hard because her husband is a lobbyist.

Outside of that, it's a hard pass on anyone else.
