That is awesome.

Amazing that they are picking on her for her 'fashion', and for 'crafting an image'...while she's wearing an $8 dress.

And when AOC wears "Tax the Rich" on a $3k dress, at an event that costs 30k to attend....nothing from the left.

I also think it's insanity, that people like the writer, think there is a conspiracy to have women be pregnant in the administration. As if they're doing it for a certain image. I wonder if she knows how people get pregnant?

Husband: Our son asked where babies come from.

Wife: He's too young. Tell him the stork.

[Later]

Husband: Your mom ****ed a stork.

This reminds me of one of my favorite college party jokes, told after telling a series of increasingly inappropriate ones:

Me: How do you get a witch pregnant?

Crowd: ::Confused looks in anticipation of something horribly offensive:: ...How?

Me: You **** her.

What does that even mean?

So many pundits today write in a similar, stilted manner -- designed to give off the impression they are smart and sophisticated and have an insightful POV. But really they are just dancing around without ever saying anything of substance.

I call it the Matthew Yglesias Strategy. I see that guy's posts on X and can't ever decipher what the hell his point is. But if you have an Ivy League degree or the right connections, lame writing like that pays really well.

It's not about being truthful or insightful or intelligent or observant. It is about giving your target audience the message they wish to hear and believe so you retain their attention and can leverage it for personal gain in some way.

Except they can't deliver a message in a straight-forward way.

There's a class of opinion writers today who couch everything they say in convoluted sentence structures or too clever by half analogies.

Here's an example: Why not just say what you think will happen?

I'm not getting the conserva-rage and "Atta girl" e-highfiving here.

Maybe it is because the full article is paywalled. Maybe it is because this is just a bad thread.

The lib NYT is doing what the lib NYT does by gaslighting and condescension. The second lady posts how much her maternity outfit from Old Navy costs since it was partially the subject of the paywalled article it seems.

Sounds like online woman drama looking for an opportunity to be dramatic.

Scintillating efforts, ladies.

Exactly. The leftist dog**** media thought Big Mike was a fashion plate and iconic. Meanwhile a real model and classy first lady comes in and they treat her like a leper because Trump.

Look at the parts that I quoted from the other article. And you can go to that article completely. They were tying in her dress somehow to the way that Trump's people are supposed to dress and that is wrong. How did you miss that?

Here I'll cut and paste for you. How she's tying this **** into a dress that a pregnant second lady wears is beyond me and how you missed that is beyond me too.

Friedman writes, "That three such prominent women in the MAGA movement were pregnant at pretty much the same time was, indubitably, a coincidence. But for an administration that has such an intuitive and strategic understanding of the power of aesthetics that an unspoken dress code in which men outfit themselves in the image of the president has developed, it has also become a telling one."
I don’t get enough credit for the things I manage not to say.

Bottomline.

Happily married women in a certain age range tend to get pregnant.

Conservative women are more likely to be married and have children. They are also much, much, more likely to be more attractive and dress more feminine. Hence the dresses, skirts, princess hair.

Trump or not, this drives the left crazy. It really is that simple.

Today I learned we had a VP named Schuyler Colfax

I lived in Colfax, CA for a few years in elementary school. So, he is not new to me. There are Colfax towns in more than a dozen states.
