Bolton comes from a working class family.

Other than working for a law firm for 7 years, directly out of college (in the mid-70s), the guy has worked in Civil Service his entire career and is estimated to be worth between 6-10 million dollars.

I worked for decades with a security clearance of some form or another. I cannot remember any version of any of the regulations governing the clearances, in any decade, at any company, or in the military that would have allowed me to take classified material out of the office. Reality Winner (the person, not the Santa Anita Derby's 7th place finisher) got 5 years for doing a lot less.

Like David Petraeus, John Bolton did some far more serious no-no's, but is not a peon.

Petraus made a deal and got off lightly. Two years probation. A $100k fine.

I think Bolton will get a 5 year sentence with two of those as probation, but I also believe A&M will win nattys in football and baseball before I die.

We had been thirsting for convictions for a long time now, and it seems like we are finally getting a few. The "it takes time to put a case together" folks are getting a little validation. Hopefully, the momentum builds.
