I know they're awarded at the discretion of the President, but the Google tells me there's no process by which these honors can be revoked once they're awarded.

That some BS- it seems to me that Presidents should have the authority to strip these away from awardees when subsequent revelations point to the need.

I started out looking at whether Bill Cosby still had his, but others whose worthiness prolly deserves reconsideration occurred to me:

Meghan Rapinoe
George Soros
Hillary
Gabby Gifford
Robert McNamara
McGeorge Bundy

There are others, but these jump to the front. Who else would you recommend? Or do you believe the Presidential Medal of Freedom is a permanent thing?

Elections are when people find out what politicians stand for, and politicians find out what people will fall for.

I would strip Biden of his.

Did the honor come with some morality clause they had to attest to and then live by?

If not, then it is what it is. Once an honor is bestowed then it should not be removed unless the terms of the honor allowed for such.

Plus, at this point given the ever-expanding list of recipients as each side tries to best the other with polarizing folk, combined with the concept of putting people on pedestals means most will fall off, then recognize its a trinket, not unlike and participation ribbon, that at the end of the day really means nothing.

I would rather have a Kennedy Center medal as its prettier.

You mention that it's an "honor", and I agree. But "honor" and names like "Bill Cosby" do not belong in the same sentence. That's my point.

That applies to way more on the recipients list than Bill Cosby.

Keep in mind the left believes Rush Limbaugh to be the antichrist, at least until he died.

They would strip Rush long before they would ever strip Cosby.

Hell, if Platner loses to Collins then next Hate America POTUS (don't think the Dems win again for a couple of decades) will bestow the honor on him for being so brave.

Correct: it does. I recognize it's just yelling at the weather, but if the President giveth, the President should be able to taketh.

I could see a living FPOTUS revoking an award they gave. I could get behind that for sure.

And I support the premise of your OP for sure. Just that implementation is... complicated.

Might I suggest :" Your Honor, my client...Bill Cosby...." would be contrary to your statement.

This is still on the official TheEllenShow youtube. They just disabled comments. What makes you think that it's fake? Was she wearing truck nuts to keep her mic pack from coming loose? Or do you think that the Ellen Degeneres show, the one that owns the IP for that video, doctored it? This video was posted 11 years ago. If it was fake, you'd think that it would have been taken down by now.

The Medal of Honor is THE one and only medal that I recognize. The medal of freedom is nothing more than pandering or rewarding those that gave enough money and/or resources to support the current president's cause(s).
