Trying to do some housing research for a future Aggie. After reviewing the dorm costs, it seems Commons and the modular halls are both the same price. When I was there in the mid 90's modular was significantly more expensive. Modular rooms are larger without suite bathrooms. I lived in Dunn and always thought the modular halls were much nicer. Am I missing something or is modular the clear choice now that they are equally priced? Thanks in advance.

I haven't seen the finished product, but all the Commons halls have been remodeled in the last couple of years. Your best option is to tour them and see for yourself.

With Hullabaloo Hall and other newer on-campus options being available, the modular dorms are no longer the top seller as they once were. The Commons forms are all recently renovated, and the sacrifice of suite style bathrooms is offset by the convenience of being directly attached to the Commons facilities.

Got it. That makes sense. I lived in Dunn and when we just toured recently we went into a Mosher room (that was all girls back in my day). The room seemed really small. After doing a little research, I found my Dunn room was a decent amount larger. It's odd, Dunn seems to have a couple of different layouts, one matching the smaller Mosher layout and the larger one.

It sort of seemed like most of the Commons renovation was mostly rework of the "common" area. It didn't look like much had been done to the dorms themselves, besides painting the cinderblock and maybe replacing the flooring. Seems like the modular is a better buy for your money. Hullabaloo and the apartments are priced up there.
