I'm a current high school administrator with over a decade of experience and a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction. Personally, I am in the middle of a divorce and my child's father has essentially ghosted us, so all responsibility is solely on me. I've recently come to the realization that in order to support my child and myself I'm going to have to leave education. I'm on the east side of the Houston area and relocation isn't an option at this time.
I'd absolutely love to find a remote position or even local position that would meet our financial needs and allow me the flexibility to care for my kiddo if he ever has to stay home from daycare.
Professionally, I have been a high school science teacher, school counselor, advanced academics coordinator, assistant principal, 504 coordinator, and have taught at a local community college. I have experience with appraising teams, instructional leadership, curriculum design, instruction, learning theories and methods, etc. I've done some freelance writing on the side as well, and I'm great with technology and various online platforms. I'm a quick learner and a hard worker.
I've applied for a few curriculum specialist positions for various companies outside of education, but haven't gotten much back. I wanted to reach out to my Aggie family to see if anyone may know of an opportunity for me. I can be reached at Athena 0509 at g mail. Thanks and gig 'em!
