As an employer I have a really hard time finding qualified candidates. The local help wanted are trash. The fancy indeeds send you 100 resumes of people who never even applied for the job and are just fishing. It's just as hard for those of you looking, as it is for companies that are looking. I'm not ancient but I'm too busy running a business to spend half my week figuring out where to post job openings. The last few years I've had regional managers recruiting on their own social media with incentives I offer them to hire and after a year I give them a bonus if the new hire is still around. What are the job boards and posting spots that are best to use. My industry is very niche with a wide variety of opportunities but I hate hiring people as much as some people hate looking for jobs.

I've changed jobs twice in 3 years and both times I used LinkedIn almost exclusively. I found Indeed to be less user friendly for some reason and the few niche industry boards were usually not any better than LinkedIn with the only exception being they advertised in-person job fairs a little earlier. Just my experience, but I would put an add out on LinkedIn and see what results you get.

I can only speak from the employee side, but don't sleep on posting open positions here. My wife and I both found on jobs on the Texags job board. She's with a big midstream O&G company and I'm with a small construction company. She's been there 9 years and 6 for me. The network here is awesome imho.

Found my current role via Linkedin.

As a hiring manager, I have never hired from Linkedin. Way too much junk comes in.

My son had a Masters in Economics and got a job doing analysis at Sunnova, a solar company. He found hundreds of errors and was let go after getting a large bonus. I never understood it but he was very discouraged and to change careers and got associates degree in graphic design. He is highly intelligent, sent lots resumes out and in a year has not gotten an interview. I don't know what we can do. I don't trust indeed. Com. Any thoughts?
