My wife has been unemployed for almost 9 months after a layoff in February and has gone through the job hunt pain making it through multiple rounds of interviews only to have the company halt filling new positions, getting ghosted after three rounds of interviews, interviewing for lower level positions and being rejected for a younger cheaper candidate, etc. She has a great prospect now having made it through the recruiter interview, an interview with the Director of the department she would be under as well as someone that is what would be a peer position. Now she has an invite to fly to Dallas for a final interview next week. It is a panel interview with the HRBP, the Operations Mgr that the role would support, and with someone in the same role she is interviewing for but with a "Sr." Title and finally someone in performance reporting.
Anyone have any idea what that would mean if anything? It is a Marketing role and my wife has a ton of experience in both Agency and Client Side Marketing and her latest job was in this same role for a similar company. Is it strange that the Marketing person on the panel reports to someone that already interviewed her and liked her and advanced her in the process?
I read through the email that described the expected process and participants in the final and came to the conclusion the Director wants to hire her and this final looks like it is a "red flag" interview and as long as the panel gets the feeling she would fit in with the team and has no red flags that she likely leaves with an offer. I have never had to fly and stay overnight for an interview, would a company do that unless they were strongly leaning towards making an offer? Am I reading too much into the people and format and she still has a big hill to climb before an offer may be extended? My wife is tired of getting emotionally crushed and is worrying herself silly over it.
