Any person/service you'd recommend for resume reviews? I was laid off in October, and am finally working on sending my resume out and would love some feedback. Thank you!

Send it to me for review. I've been serving forum members since 2016.

Im.a professional recruiter and utilize AI for creating job descriptions and comparing resume to determine % match.

Here is an AI generated guide that I spoke into existence for you:

This step-by-step guide is designed for you to hand directly to a client. It frames AI not just as a "writer," but as a high-level career consultant that helps them see their own experience through the eyes of a recruiter.

Client Guide: Optimizing Your Resume with AI
Goal: Transform your current resume into a high-impact, professional document that passes Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and impresses hiring managers.
Before You Begin: The "Master File"
Open your AI tool (Gemini, ChatGPT, or Copilot) and have two things ready:
* Your Current Resume: (Copy the text or have the PDF/Word file ready to upload).
* A Target Job Description: (Copy the text of a job you actually want to apply for).
Phase 1: The "First Impression" Audit
This step identifies where your resume feels weak or unprofessional.
The Action: Upload/Paste your resume and use this prompt:
> "I am providing my resume. Please act as a senior recruiter and audit this for clarity, professionalism, and tone. Identify any 'fluff' words, passive language, or sections that are hard to understand. Give me a 'Scannability Score' from 1-10."
>
Phase 2: The "Impact" Upgrade (Quantifying Results)
Recruiters don't want to see a list of tasks; they want to see results.
The Action: Use this prompt to fix your bullet points:
> "Review the 'Work Experience' section of my resume. For every bullet point, suggest how I can add a specific metric (e.g., percentages, dollar amounts, or time saved) to show the impact of my work. If I don't have the data, suggest a placeholder where a number should go."
>
Phase 3: The ATS Alignment (Keywords)
Most companies use software (ATS) to scan for specific keywords. If you don't have them, a human may never see your resume.
The Action: Paste the Job Description and use this prompt:
> *"Here is a job description for a role I want: [Paste Job Description]. Compare it to my resume and:
> * List the top 5 missing keywords or skills I should add.
> * Rewrite my 'Professional Summary' to align specifically with this role.
> * Identify any formatting (like tables or columns) that might confuse an ATS scanner."*
>
Phase 4: The Personality & Culture Fit
A resume should show who you are, not just what you did.
The Action: Use this prompt to inject your professional "voice":
> "Based on my resume, what 'personality traits' am I projecting? (e.g., Am I a leader, a collaborator, or a technical specialist?) Suggest 2-3 small changes to my wording that would better highlight my [e.g., leadership/problem-solving] skills to match the culture of a company like [Company Name]."
>
Phase 5: The Final Polish
Consistency is the hallmark of a professional.
The Action: Use this prompt for a final "clean up":
> "Please perform a final proofread. Ensure all dates are formatted identically, all bullet points have consistent punctuation, and all verbs in past roles are in the past tense. Point out any 'buzzwords' that make me sound generic."
>
3 Golden Rules for the Client
* Fact-Check Everything: AI can sometimes "hallucinate" or exaggerate. Ensure every claim made is 100% true to your experience.
* The "Loud" Test: Read the AI's suggestions out loud. If it doesn't sound like something you would actually say in an interview, tweak the wording to match your natural voice.
* Simple Formatting Wins: While AI helps with text, keep your design simple. Avoid complex graphics or "skill bars" (e.g., 80% Proficient in Excel), as these are often unreadable by HR software.

I would not use AI!

I used Mr. Shelley. He is fair, reasonable and composed a resume and cover letters for me that are adjustable for different targets. They are very high quality and I have received numerous compliments on them.

Not trying to plug for Jim, but he does a real quality job.
