NFL bought 10% equity in ESPN. So that's how RedZone, the NFL network, and some new NFL games are going to be on ESPN now. This is actually good timing as ESPN is about to launch a direct to consumer offering for all of their content. So for A&M and the NFL that means if you have an antenna and the ESPN streaming service you can cover a large swath of football games without cable this year.

Yeah but I suspect that the price for the ESPN service will (eventually) be just as high.

ESPN / Disney is anti-American and should be treated as a terrorist organization

Scott Hansen was on one of the Sirius shows yesterday. Sounds like, other than the commercials, nothing is really gonna be different.

It is so frustrating that premium subscription services have added advertisements while not improving their product.

Will NFL Redzone have new features or content now? Nope. Will they be giving it out for free with basic cable packages? Nope. Will they be cutting prices? Doubt it.

Netflix did the same thing and added advertisements and the selection of content on their platform is exponentially worse than it was a decade ago.

I'm surprised people haven't found a way to force feed us advertisements behind our eyelids when we blink.
