Just avoid the new series 4 Tivos which no longer support OTA signal. Otherwise I think you should be fine.

Look on Craigslist for a Series 3 or Series 3 HD both will do High Def. Find one with "Lifetime Service" and enjoy...

Lifetime is $499, so anything under $499 w/LT would be a steal. Make sure it has the XL (1TB) drive for more storage.

I currently have 3 TiVos. I will be looking to sell them within the next couple of months. I have a Tivo HD (Series 3) - annual service, Tivo HDXL (Series 3) - lifetime, and a Premiere XL - lifetime. I will be selling all three with plan of buying a Premiere Elite (or XL4) with lifetime, and some Tivo Minis for the other TVs in the house.

Of course, the Tivo Mini has to come out first.

I love TiVo though. I have only been using TiVo for a little over 3 years, but they are so much more reliable and functional than the typical POS cable co DVRs.

I've had my TiVo for over 3 years and had 0 issues with it since initial setup. I have the Series3 HD. I didn't get the XL simply because it's so easy to add a HDD, and I found I rarely fill my TiVo as it is.
