Too Many Bones. Really liking this one as a solo game playing 2 handed. Really love all the quality bits but it's a fun dice roller as well! Rules are many and can be a bit vague at times...but in this type of game I'm ok with it, especially playing solo.

Got it on the list.

Becoming a huge solo board gamer myself.

Anyone ever play Arkham Horror LCG? I have the base game on the way now.

Its a great time for solo boardgaming - lots of options out there.

I just got the kickstarter expansion to TM:Ares Expedition which has a new solo mode (and co-op mode as well!) and hope to play it soon. TM:AE has a solo mode in the core box and its good as well, and even greater to learn the game before teaching others.

I picked up Ares Expedition back when it released but have never gotten around to playing it. Terraforming Mars is one of my top games of all time, so I need to correct that.

Oh boy - my Final Girl season 2 just got here the same weekend as the Diablo beta. And the wife wants to go look at bluebonnets today! Life is unfair sometimes.

OK, tried out ANOTHER game this week - Earth. It has a lot of similarities to Wingspan, Terraforming Mars, and Meadow. Really like it. Its a point salad game with tableau building/engine building mechanisms. Easy setup, lots of re-playability, easy to learn - hard to master, zero downtime. I think it'll be a serious contender for new game of the year.

Really enjoy Arkham Horror, but I prefer to play with buddies, and with three kids and buddies moving further away, it's not in the cards (ha) for a while. I continue to buy everything that comes out because I know I'll get to it one day. The campaigns mean playing through a whole story takes several gaming sessions.

For a similar experience that we can knock out all at once, I really enjoy Mansion of Madness. The 2nd edition has an app acting as the dungeon master so no one has to do it.

I really enjoy The Vale of Eternity and Next Station: London right now, both can be played for free on Board Game Arena well. Hoping to try Ethnos 2nd edition, So Clover and Strike soon. If anyone has a copy of one of the games above that they want to trade in the Dallas area or via mail, let me know! My "For Trade" list is on my Board Game Geek profile page under gmcag.

Also, Duel for Middle Earth (the LOTR version of 7 Wonders Duel) is amazing. It streamlined some clunky aspects of the original and it always seems to have an epic ending, which is very thematic!

Had this bouncing around forever and finally got it to the table. One Deck Dungeon.

Super fun and quite clever little solo game. Lost my first run. Already setting and getting ready for another go. Mango the Warrior isn't afraid of defeat.

It's more brutal than I thought it would be. 0-3 last night. Two of them when I had the final boss on one health left. The other I got squashed by an elemental on the second floor when ALL my dice decided to turn traitor.

I think they found the perfect blend of strategy and luck with this game. Thought I would breeze through with a minimum of hard thinking. Genuinely impressed how much fun is in this little box. Already have the second ordered and on the way.

There are a couple of newish solo games out that are really good you'll might like - Unstoppable and Star Trek: Captain's Chair.

Unstoppable is pretty cool in that it uses this card upgrade mechanic where you overlay partial cards on top of each other into sleeves to create new upgraded cards in your deck. But when you upgrade your cards you also end up upgrading the enemy cards as well which are played off the reverse sides! Its fun!

In the 1-2 player category I've been into story-based games a lot recently - Vantage, 7th Citadel, and the latest I'm about to play - Earthborne Rangers.

I decided to go the stupid route in the end.

It finally arrived. I have never been more intimidated by a board game ever. This is a legit 35-40 lb game.
