I saw that XM is offering free streaming. It reminded me that I need to call to cancel and renegotiate since my subscription expired.

I found out that you can do that through the website now.

I got the Select plan for $60/year per radio. They also offered all access for $99 and 6 months select for $30.

Mine is up in a few weeks. It'll be great if I don't have to go through the same song and dance calling to cancel, etc.

I renewed mine this past week. I used the chat function on their website and just asked for a discount. Was immediately offered the Select package for $60+taxes/fees. It was the easiest large discount I've ever gotten from SiriusXM. There was no haggling necessary.

They have gotten smart. Some money is better than no money, and there is a lot of competition with streaming services and podcasts.

Bumping this thread for a new question....

If I currrenly have Pandora, will the Sirius + Pandora subscription allow me to drop my Pandora Plus (unlimited skips) account or will I lose some functionality of having Pandora Plus?

Thanks to this thread I went online and opened a chat window and asked for a reduction in price and they gave me 12 months for $4.99 (plus fees...not sure what the fees are to be honest). I had already prepaid for 12 months, and this resulted in a $100+ credit to my account.

Thanks OP!

I got the same deal today.

It also comes with access to their app.

Generally per year $60 for Select is a good deal and $99 for All Access is a good deal. The "taxes and fees" will tack on another 24 dollars are so.

The main difference between All Access and Select used to be that All Access let you use the apps and stream but that isn't the case anymore, Select people can use the app and stream now. The difference now is that All Access has some additional sports channels, howard stern, and you basically get unlimited skip pandora radio. Everything else is the same.

They also have an even more slimed down version that is only in your car and you can get it for $30 a year.

YMMV on these deals, they are offering free echo dots with some of the plans right now and I've heard of people getting better deals through brute force. If you really want the best deal don't be afraid to actually cancel and wait for them to send you a "come back to us" deal in the mail.

I set a calendar reminder in Google every year that bombards me with email a week or so before hand to i take care of it before the price increase hits. Especially on these yearly plans you don't want to mess this up because they will charge you a year at full price if you let it auto renew.

I am a few days into our trial of SXM and not loving the App / Pandora functionality.

I do like having the additonal stations but honestly not sure how much we will use. If i can get access to the stations (could care less if it excludes podcasts but would like to have FoxNews and some sports radio stations) for $30/year I am in...however...i dont know that i see that option. Maybe have to call?

Funny - I do the same thing with reminders on Outlook. I just used the chat to get the renewal of $60/year for the select package. It was pretty painless although it took a little longer than a phone call. It likely would have been pain-free but the chat got disconnected and I had to repeat the request. No hassle at all. They just said -
"Would you like the same deal?"

The big difference between All Access and Select is All Access has NFL.

Has anyone done a family plan? Just bought a second car. I would like to have two radios on one plan if it ain't too expensive.

I think you'll have to call. When I was going through my last set of negotiations I had pushed toward a 30 dollar plan and they said there was a 30 dollar option but it would only be in the car and not streaming. Streaming is a must have for me so i didn't ask further on what that plan would have included. If I were to guess i'd think they were talking about the mostly music package which only has a couple on news / talk options and doesn't include sports.

So, you folks calling/chatting to negotiate...are you doing so mid-subscription? My sub renews every January. Can I get online and chat and tell the person that my sub is too expensive and I need to cancel...then negotiate with them for the reduced price? You all have been successful doing so mid-subscription and not waiting until your renewal date?

Ok. I think the plan i might do is $5/month. That would get me what I want. Would mainly be missing NFL but I rarely am in the car on Sunday afternoons anyways.

Will see how much we use it the next few months...

I had a reminder set for a week before my renewal date. Chatted and they dropped my price without even having to go through the "retention" hoops.

I just did this with online chat. I can confirm it was very easy. Got the all-access for 8.25 a month. In fact, my only issue was my network adblocker was not allowing the chat window to pop up.

Just did the same thing. I had to switch to Safari from Chrome. Got the $8.25 deal for 12 months. I'll renegotiate in November to get a family plan going when my second car trial ends.

Just did the online chat and re-upped our contract for another year. Got 2 cars with Select, both for $60.00 plus the taxes/fees. All-in, $72.40 per account I believe.

*I'm so used to saying I call Sirius... but I used the online chat like others here and it worked as easy as calling.

I did it about 2 weeks prior to my subscription cancellation but my guess is that you can do this anytime. They know people will ask for a cheaper rate but bet on (and capitalize on) those that don't. I talked to my dad a few years ago and he didn't know about the whole "threaten to cancel to get a better rate" routine. He had been overpaying for a few years and was floored when I called and got him a better deal in about 15 mins. I assume there is a large population that pays their normal rates and that's how they can sponsor nascars each race.

I've been off for a while now, enjoyed the service but the different stations seem to cycle through the same music.

I'll renew if college football comes back on a regular schedule for ESPNU

I noticed now when I do the annual cancel my SiriusXM and get a promotional offer back to $10/mo vs $20/mo. I don't have to chat with support anymore. I just hit cancel and it gives me a loyalty offer to click on and go back to the promotional price.

Step 1 - Find the dealer for your brand/make of car nearest you (Ford, Toyota, etc etc)

Step 2 - Download Sirius XM Dealer App (Called "SiriusXM Dealer") on your cell phone.

Step 3 - Drive to dealership and park in it like a customer (doing this for 'GPS app location' reasons).

Step 4 - In car at dealership, tune to channel '0', to get your Radio ID. Auto-Activate using above APP on your cell phone.

Step 5 - Go back to Step 3 in 90 days.

EDIT : If you're a pro, you can VPN gps-spoof yourself at the dealer's lot, and do it from home.

I have a sub.... a relative told me his cheap ass does this and it made me laugh. That's how I know.
