UCF got caught looking ahead to a monster matchup and ALMOST found a way to lose. Sloppy QB play and inability to get off the field made for a long day in Morgantown. The ground game finally got going in the second half and enabled the Knights to escape 31-24, improving to 5-0 before the buzzsaw that is Tmaggie's Tigers next week.

Coaches are already losing sleep, gameday already announced they're coming to town, tens of fans are camping out for tickets, this is gonna be a huge game.

Iowa bears mich st 20-14. Game starts with a pick six by mich st but Iowa marched down to match. It was a traditional big 10 sleeper with not much yards and boring football. A win is a win. Iowa had 290 yard with a bad rushing game of 23-49 yds and passing was 22-34 for 241. TE was a dominant force. Iowa was 8-12 on third down while MSU was 1-6. Only fun thing was the snow. A win is a win and I will take it.

We have 2 guys who are looking to join the league so I wanted to get some opinions on how to make that happen. We have all been 4* teams so I think we need to stick with that. The number of teams in the big 12 and big ten that meet that criteria are pretty limited at this point. Do we want to let newcomers choose any team in any league they want, limit it to the teams in the big 12/big ten for this season, or require all newcomers to start joining in another conference?

I want to keep from having people joining random conferences where they will have no user games while we all play each other.

I say if there are 4* and below options available in the Big 12 or 10 they have to join those. Not sure how many there are currently. Once those fill up we can take it from there, otherwise after the season we can switch conferences around if need be to make it work

Option 1. Force them to join either the big 12 or big 10 as is. You must pick from the available teams in those conferences.
Option 2. Link those two in an outside conference together. Put them in SEC or something. Let's say, South Carolina, Arkansas, Miss. State, and or Kentucky. We can all shuffle around later.
Really and truly if we had 10 - 12 teams involved. I wouldn't mind having 3 conferences going.

you have to consider the recruiting hotbeds. my mistake was iowa is no recruits compared to teams in tx for pipelines. if we open up sec, that is a prime recruiting area. I think the pac would be better. i am open to whatever

The tech coach is a work friend of mine and told me about this dynasty yall got going.

I'd like to join as a team in one of the main conferences. Specifically Nebraska, although they are a 5 star program they are an 84 rated team. Making me the lowest rated team selected by a user.

The only issue that I see would be coming in as a 5 star over a 4 would be an advantage in recruiting. The playing field is not even there.

Lets do a quick poll with the below options. I'd like to atleast get 3-4 others voting before making a decision.

1. Allow only 4* teams in our existing conferences until the offseason
2. Allow 4* teams in our conferences + SEC until offseason where we can open it up and reshuffle conference ties.
3. Make an exception and allow Nebraska. The difference as pointed out is initial recruiting ability.

My vote is #2.

I say 1, and then we can reevaluate in the offseason and go to 3 conferences. i am ok with 2.

#1, but I would be o.k. with 2. I am dead set against 3.

Just let this guy be Nebraska. Please. He calls me on a daily basis and I just want it to stop.

It's not like the state of Nebraska pumps out top recruits every year, and being a 5 star program opposed to a 4 star program makes no difference in recruiting capabilities. And he missed the entire first half of the season to recruit.

Nebraska already has one loss, and has an 84 team rating, lower than all of our teams. Baylor's team rating is a 94.

Option 1 is the most ideal, but after that I don't have a preference between option 2 & 3. Nothing is a huge deal breaker to me anyways.

And there's a decent chance the higher ranked users (mizzou and UCF) will bump up a prestige rating after this year anyways.

Also you'd think for being ranked #2 I could pull some recruiting momentum, this is BS!

Alright sounds like #1 is the overwhelming majority so we'll go with that.

No offense Aggiearcher, but wasn't UCF ranked in the top 25 in the preseason? And Florida is the best state from a recruiting standpoint..:.

Looking back at Week 6:

Iowa's defense wins the game against Mich St holding them to 16% on 3rd down and just 79 yards through the air in a 20-14 win. They improve to 4-2 and are receiving votes in both polls but not currently ranked

Tech beats Kansas in humiliating fashion 92-31, putting up 996 yards of offense. Most notably through 58 plays, they only faced 2 3rd downs. They improve to #19.

UCF survives a scare against WVU thanks to a late score and 350 yards on the ground. They are #3 in the country

Minnesota with an impressive win on the road with a late TD to improve to 1-1 in conference and 2-3 overall.

This weeks biggest games are Iowa at Penn State and UCF at Missouri. With a win here, Iowa may break into the top 25.

#3UCF at #5Missouri has major title implications and could shoot one of these teams to #1 in the country when the BCS poll comes out.

Just to rehash the rules on 4th downs.

No going for it unless you are:
1. Down by 2 or more scores in the 2nd half.
2. Trailing at all in the 4th.

I also think we should allow 4th down attempts in the 4th quarter if it is a one score game for either team. That way teams have the ability to try and put the game away or take the lead in the event of a tied game.

Iowa wins a walk off with an iced kicker from 42 yds. Penn state opened the game dominating but throws an end zone pick that turned into 3 pits. Iowa dominates time of poss and goes up 10-0 and as penn state just runs the clock out they break a 75 yd garbage run. I somehow hit the lateral button and gave the ball to penn state to open the second half and was lucky to hold them to 3. I was able to go up 7 in the 4th and piss state just ran the ball all over me. Splitting the Grand Canyon lanes. I was able to get a miracle third and long to setup winning 42 yd. ugly but a win. Story of my team.

361-309 total offense. Third down conv been my saving grace as I was 8-12 vs 5-10. Time of poss was dominating 14:48-9:12.

I'll let TMaggie do the write up, but lemme just say: 5-0 was a fluke. My groin hurts after that one.

Edit to say: I think this is on exception we can make considering we limited the team options to only 4 squads, he's coming in mid-season to a team who has already lost several games and he won his Purdue game so it's not like he's running away from his own loss.
