Two TVs Side by Side

I have two Samsung TVs on the wall side by side in my game room. When I first set them up, I was able to control both independently from my phone using the Smart Things app. Several months ago, both TVs started showing up as "offline" on the Smart Things app despite numerous attempts to troubleshoot. I just gave up, and have gone through the tedious PITA of operating them since then (remote turns both off or on, controlling one ends up controlling the other, etc.). The biggest issue is trying to control volume if I want to switch from one to another, stuff like that.

My question is has anybody had this kind of trouble with Smart Things and has a fix, or is there a different app/technology I should consider that will allow me to operate these TVs independent from one another?

Couple of thoughts:
Anything change with your network?
Are the tv's on a different network than your phone?
Maybe try to statically set the IP address on the tv's and/or manually connect to the IP in the app?

My Wifi was terrible and I thought that was part of it, but I just installed a new Eero wifi mesh system with one of the boxes being upstairs in this room. I put my phone and both TVs on that network and still haven't been able to make it work. Going to have to try a complete and total reboot where I forget the devices and redo set up sometime in the next couple days.

Did Samsung remove support for the app? They're bad about doing things like that.

I have a room with 2 TVs. I covered the remote IR receiver with black electrical tape and installed a chromecast on tv 2. We use the regular remote to control tv 1 and our phones to control tv 2 (including volume). It works well for us since we can chromecast most media (especially youtube tv).

Delete them from the app and re-add them. I have to re-add my Frame tv every few months.

SmartThings is quite possibly the worst app ever.

FWIW, I have two TCL Roku TV's side-by-side and the paired RF remotes work well in this situation.

Apple TV or Roku (I'm sure it should work with Apple TV, not sure about Roku), turn on HDMI-CEC on the TVs and control the sound with the Apple TV remote. The remote pairs with each individual box rather than operates off IR provided you set it up with HDMI-CEC.

This is a really good idea and I will be trying it. Never would have thought of it.

If you set up a new WiFi network, the router may be blocking the communication between your phone and TVs. I had this issue when I put in a unifi system with Rokus and a Roku TV. I had to change something to allow them once (maybe multicast?), and, because IP addresses had changed, I had to first forget them in the Roku app. Same with an Onkyo app for a receiver. After I did that, everything has been fine.

Someone smarter than me can probably help figure out exactly what I changed besides deleting and re-adding them to the app.
