My wife is leaving teaching and will be needing a new laptop or Chromebook. She mainly uses Google drive for everything so it doesn't need to be anything special.

Anyone have recs on the best brands for what she needs? HP, Lenovo, Samsung? Looking to get out less than $300.

I absolutely love used Lenovos in this case. I buy them for elderly relatives. I've donated a few of my old ones to younger relatives for school work as well.

The T480 and T490 are my cheap picks at the moment. Just make sure they have 16gb ram and at least a 1920x1080 screen. The 8gb and/or 1366x768 variants just don't cut it. And don't worry about hard drive space, you can always buy a 1tb SSD on Amazon for cheap.
